Indeed. We've become accustomed to those affiliated with the club either saying nothing, or lying.

Its not like the fans are paying customers and the bedrock of the club is it?

In a position or not you, you don’t have the club at heart anymore. If you did then you would be telling Sparks to leave or tell Rupp that Sparks needs to go. Too many people claim the love for the club but really they just think about themselves.

This club is a mess and those at the top are to blame! That simple.

 

Captain no criticism of you here just things in general. Do you rememember the threat to move the clubs fixtures and fittings from the ground. Or coming towards the start of the season and picking from a bunch of trialists before we could form a team. Or Dave Baldwin telling us we were struggling to pay our power bills. There have been worst times over the years.
Having said that for various reasons I think I have enjoyed this season less than most others for various reason including three long trips over to postponed games. The form of the team thinking we were on the up and climbing the table followed by atrocious form. I used to really enjoy reading this forum but now it’s just one beacon of negativity which is why after this post I will be logging out for good after many years on this and the previous one. Different opinion is treated with distain and reasoned argument is not welcomed.
I think as far as the ownership and management of the club is concerned I think the reactions of people has been way over the top but I think probably the rubicon has been passed and a change will have to be made to try and disapate the toxicity that surrounds us at the moment. Sadly I think the respite will only be temporary such is the sense of entitlement among a proportion of the fan base. Hopefully the club can turn the corner soon

I was reading through it thinking that as a sparring partner of his, though he has many, I’ll say my peace and say he shouldn’t go. Then he reverted to type and blamed the fans, I echo these words he can’t be helped. No one has an issue with different opinions, other than him as his resentment towards the fans is clear. That said he defended Rahic then conveniently pretended it never happened, I should have known better.

It also ignored the context. Last time we were shite to which Park alludes to we had come out of two admins and were in league 2, with crowds of around 7k. It took time but the likes of Lawn and Baldwin built us back up and mocking them is in poor taste, that said wums like him wouldn’t have had a bad word said about them when they were at the club, we all know the sort. To finish my point Rupp and Rahic bought a club with 18k season tickets and a squad that had just finished in the league 1 playoffs. They were dealt aces where as Lawn was dealt 72 off suit and look at where we are now. Rupp only has himself to blame, yet some fans actually blame other fans then act hard done by when called out on it. Absolutely pathetic.

 

Am I to presume then that this post is total and utter bullshit seeing as I have received no email from the club proclaiming that "We have news to share"?

 

I agree Park that there have been bad times in the past including the ones that you quoted, it was particularly bleak when on one Friday night game against Hereford we got a crowd of about 1200 to end the season. The Mark Lawn time when he threatened to take us to Odsal in the Jacko regime was particularly bleak, including ending the season with a 5-1 defeat at home to Crewe.
However both Bob Martin and Mark Lawn never disappeared from view and refused to talk to fans, they never stated that the prime directive was to avoid relegation out of the football league and survive bankruptcy even though at times I think they secretly thought it was probably the target especially in some dark times. Both also did something about it, Bob Martin appointed Roy McFarland and when he walked out Trevor Cherry. Lawn and Rhodes realised Jacko was not good enough and appointed Parkinson.
It wouldn’t be difficult for Rupp to agree to Simon Parker and Jamie Raynor request to give an interview and state his intent and how to improve the situation. Explain his plan on how he intends to take the club forward with better investment, a plan to sort out the ground ownership. How he thinks we will sign some quality players this summer, get the fans excited, admit mistakes have been made.
The usual suspects on here will undoubtedly ridicule anything he says but it would be a start on communication with the fans. I understand what your saying about logging off for a while as I did that myself during the hysteria when Wagmi were turned down but any forum needs discussion from both sides and you should continue to debate.
