    GA in this morning's T&A:

“There are other issues but I’m not going to talk about them right now”.

It’s been hinted before by other managers.

What are the “other issues” do we think?

It hardly inspires confidence in the fan base when we’re being dropped hints about stuff going on in the background.

Lack of football knowledge outside of the manager
Poor coaches at first team level
    Scatter gun recruitment
Huge overheads that mean we can’t compete
    Disgrace of a pitch
Trainning ground that contributes to our injuries
    Poor medical team
Lack of communication to fans - manager always on hook?
    Lack of football strategy
Not enough non football bodies to run the organisation given its size.

All of the above is just a general lack of investment and care.

Tends to suggest there is some kind of interference with the first team. Reading the Mills thread and what he's said there it would suggest that he's been told to keep it quiet which is never a good thing.

Other issues = a systematically broken football club, absent owner, narcissistic and unqualified CEO, and incompetence and lack of integrity at all senior levels of the club.

The bottom line is there clearly are things that need to be addressed, whatever they are. But alas suspect they won't be. However boring Uncle Derek was, maybe he had already identified the start of the slide. Sustainability is not providing forward investment and is why we are in a huge downward spiral. Poor GA must wonder what he has walked into. For all our sakes I hope this does all get sorted but it certainly ain't a happy place to be right now

Do sacked managers have to sign NDAs? I’d be very interested in hearing what Derek or Mark have to say about the behind the scenes

Alexander's comment should be of concern for everybody who cares about the future of our club. Adams said something very similar when he was here and apparently had his wrist slapped over his comments. He had gone within a few months of making his point and has said something similar only recently. Are these comments the utterances of sour-minded managers who believe they are or were treated badly? Maybe but they are not messages adopted by managers at other clubs in similar circumstances and I believe in our case there is no smoke without the fire.

There is something which I can only describe as a malaise at VP. My own view is that the leadership at the club has taken its eye off the club's core business, the footie! Our playing budget for the current season is the same as it was 4 years ago. That means it has gone down in real terms every year. And that's despite much greater revenues on the commercial side; increased ticket prices; bigger crowds and increased revenues from the PL and EFL distributions.

The club no doubt has had to pay increased costs in some areas but when probably the most important part of our club, the playing budget hasn't shared in the benefit of the club's increased financial resources - in real terms it's gone backwards - it won't go unnoticed on the footballing side. Those responsible for getting the best ouf the budget haven't helped themselves in handing out long contracts in some cases and assembling squads which are out of balance and full of holes. Equally I don't believe that the role of Gent and whoever is in the managerial chair at the time is conducive to getting the best ouf of the budget. There are structural issues here which are self-evident to some but haven't been resolved. It's as though the manager's we recruit regard themselves as a manager but in reality with others taking responsibility for recruitment, the manager's are more akin to being a coach. And yet it's the manager who is in the firing line from the fans' viewpoint. That can't be going down too well and might explain why at least two managers have hinted at behind the scene problems.

It might not be to Alexander's advantage in the medium term but sometimes the problems can only be resolved by getting them out in the open however painful that might be in the short term. It's easy for us fans to point the finger at the manager and the players on the pitch but imo the issues at VP are deeper than that. We deserve to know more.

Reading further in the article and it really does suggest problems beyond....

“There are other issues but I’m not going to talk about them now.

“I’m not going to sit here and try and highlight other things that need doing just to protect my back.

“I’m big enough to take the responsibility but I know there are a lot of things that we have to do to improve to get this club winning

I don't know about managers signing NDA's or not. But I can see why you very rarely hear any sacked manager badmouthing the club they've left. Who's going to employ someone in the future if they're going to be critical of the club when they're invariably sacked? There's probably lots of private conversations between managers about clubs behind the scenes, but pretty much every manager at every level maintains the omerta because they want to be employed in the future.

Something is clearly wrong, All the managers appointed during Sparks reign , were decent for our level and you would have thought more than capable of getting us out of this league.
It must be above them that is holding us back.
Unfortunately there is no accountability for Rupp, will not even accept letters. Sparks is his sock puppet , he would have been sacked at any other business sustainability or not, a more clueless guy you could not find to run a football club, apart from Fordy .
    Only kidding mate.

The same issues that have been present for the last 4 years or more. They've all been very well documented for anyone actually willing to listen.

Another reason we need more transparency in the accounts to see where this extra revenue goes

I’m just guessing that some of the issues might revolve around injuries. Maybe the physios aren’t up to the job, maybe the training pitches aren’t good enough and we know the pitch at VP is a shambles. After 7/8 years in charge you would have hoped the owner could have at least bought our own training facility. Nothing flamboyant but not on a floodplain. The inability to get out on the grass or injury inducing ground could be behind some of his frustration. What exactly has Rupp invested into this club?
