Obviously nobody wants Rhodes back at the helm, his most successful periods by a mile were when he had someone like Richmond or Lawn by his side. On his own? Absolutely not.

Which, ironically, is the same situation for his protege Sparks... on his own, absolutely useless. Alongside someone with a bit of ruthless aggression and some footballing nous? Could be fine.

Rhodes was a bean counter. Sparks is a PR spokesman. Neither are remotely competent in footballing matters, and Sparks in particular has been making the same basic, massive mistakes over and over and over again.

No good getting rid of just Sparks we would only get captain admin in working the Rupp way
All 4 need to go to get any change of fortune
If Rupp sells the other 3 will be surplus he's the one we need out not investing just out !!!!

You believe correctly. Plenty of them too, and fully deserved. For me that was one of only 2 positives about today’s game

The other thing was the A658 back home

There’s no way he’s doing it without Board engagement, or succession planning (even interim), nor a process of negotiation with Sparks and his Lawyer. It takes time.

Any change, if or when it happens, needs someone completely fresh.

He doesn't need Board engagement. There isn't one.

There is a Board of Directors. I assume non-Exec Directors.

And Rupp doesn't need to consider them one little bit. No more than Sparks does. If he did we might not be in quite the shit show we're in.

We do not have a board as such. Rupp is a sole owner and can take the decision without any reference. He can sack him within the terms of his contract which is always the first thing agreed in a contract the terms of dismissal

This has to be absolute BS imo, I'm not in the know by any means nor am I clued up on what's involved with regards to sacking a CEO within a business, but what I can do is look at the well known facts surrounding the subject and have a good guess, Sparks is clearly out of his depth regarding football matters but has apparently done well on the commercial side of the club, so to sack him would mean us paying up his remaining contract (I think) so if this is the case you wouldn't sack him you would just move him aside to commercial only?

It’s Rupps call, and he can likely override the Board. But removing a CEO is a material change to the business, there’s simply no way he’s doing it without engaging that group.

Yes, but only once an exit agreement has been reached, or Sparks resigned.

I think its BS anyway, but I’m just making the point that even for a football club that’s privately owned, removing the CEO isn’t an overnight process.

Isn't Sparks working within the agreed remit tho
    Don't get relegated

Exactly. He can be removed, but there’s a lot of diligence involved. It’s not as simple as, for example, sacking a manager. I’d assume Sparks is a permanent employee of the club, so unless its a case of Gross Misconduct (no jokes), the terms will have to be agreed, and Rupp will need to ensure he’s not creating grounds for unfair dismissal.

According to the City website the Board is made up of three people. Rupp, Sparks and Biggin

    That probably makes it simpler.

Anyways, its not happening, so it’s moot.

Biggin is the accountant. Hardly a group of businessmen both advising and watching out for the best interests of the club.
