Where Do We Go From Here ?

I seem to recall somebody saying a few years ago, when we were selling 16,000 season tickets that analysis showed that nearly 10-15% didn't renew in a normal year, but this was covered or exceeded bythe number of new holders. The main reasons for people I know not renewing in recent years are death, illness, reduction in mobility or moving away from Bradford. Although many moan about the football I can't remember any actually not renewing because of that! Anyway I suspect the real struggle will be to attract the normal 10-15% of new season ticket holders.

 

I don't think the club are going to lose season ticket holders, they will just fail to attract new supporters or those who come occasionally. Someone listed earlier, the reasons why this club should be a success - only club (sorry Avenue) in the City...and there's the answer why the club can afford to be lazy. It's like having just one boozer in the village. It may serve bad beer, but it's the only place to go.

 

But if it gets too lazy which it seems to be supporters will just go off and do other things on a Saturday if they can’t justify paying the money for the product that they are getting and when those in charge of the club can’t be bothered to even address what is happening to it why should his pockets be lined by them ?

But we can’t do that can we - as seasoned fans? Fair weather and new ones yes, as I stated, but those of us who’ve followed for x amount of years no. It’s Stockholm syndrome.

 

Can't believe you have written this. We are 5 st holders, 1 is a child. the 4 remaining have in total watched city for 150 years plus. 1 is definitely not renewing the other 3 thinking hard. Sparks thinks we are sheep and takes the p... by threatening to sell the tickets we have held for years if we don't renew a full month before the season has finished. Coupled this with performances, I'd say that PR is not his forte.

 

So your beef is that you want to know if we reach the playoffs before you’ll renew?
In previous seasons yes we’ve had until June to renew for seat retentions but Sparks knows renewals will be down this summer and so is being clever hoping on peoples fear like yourselves of losing prime seats you’ve held for years in a last ditch attempt to get you to renew……and I bet it works with most people.

 

It’s an age old time related sales tactic of making someone fear they’ll miss out on a deal or perk by not taking action soon enough.
There will be thousands of fans right now who occupy plum seats they’ve had for decades who don’t want to renew in April, but they will.
And make no mistake there will be a huge queue of fans waiting in the wings on April 8th to take those prime seats off the folk who’ve dillied and dallied to renew.

 

I have no idea if it will work but it has p’d me right off. That is what I mean about arrogance and contempt for the fans and how they feel. He can shove his prime seats that will cost me £738 to retain. That will come into our thinking don’t you worry about that!

 

It won’t be new purchasers, it’ll be existing ST holders who had to make do with inferior seats for many seasons who want to renew and will move into the best seats vacated by non renewals

 

£738 seats that someone else will love to have, make no mistake about that

 

Once we make our decision I couldn’t care less who jumps into seats I have vacated.

 

I’ve been waiting for front row seats in upper Kop for years and this season could be my lucky year.

 

Like most on here, I knew weeks ago we would not make the playoffs. The length of time I have had a st should point out that is not my yardstick. Find another beef.

 

Actually we picked them seats up 3/4 way through the season. They had been empty all season.

 

I have seen reference to premium seats being available if a ST is not renewed. Apart from Bantams bar where are these seats?
