Question For Those Currently Not Intending to Renew [Trolls Not Required]

So you should carry on doing something that you don't enjoy doing just incase it's no longer there for you not to enjoy in the future?

Oh I'll always be faithful. I'll never see another club on the side. It's just a dead marriage now though. I take no pleasure in it, I just have no interest in what we've become. I can't even muster the enthusiasm to watch it on ifollow later, I'm taking the Mrs out for a bite instead.

 

For those who go next season, I genuinely hope it is. I know what action I believe supporters need to take in order to force change, but im not judging anyone who chooses to buy. I hope its an enjoyable experience, though our record under this regime strongly indicates it won't be.

What you need to wake up to though Park, is that the loss of floating, and even long standing fans, isn't something to be celebrated in some veiled manner, as though it shines a positive light on the 'hardcore'; its another nail in the coffin, and a strong marker of our ongoing cycle of decline.

 

Agreed Steve that post is bang out of order, i guess im one of the unclean that Parks on about but honestly mate its water off a ducks back, I've said my piece why im not renewing, and i respect why people are but in turn i hope people respect why people arent, we all have the club at heart its just doing what supporters think is the best in the long run.

Lots saying it's the social side of it ie meeting friends and family which I understand and have been guilty of myself however it doesn't have to centre round a football match

It's a flawed and false sense of elitism. If and when supporters who've been buying STs don't buy/renew, it should scare the sh*t out of the likes of Park, Sparks, Rupp - not be worn as a badge of honour for those who do buy. We're not talking about fans who'll only go in the good times (and even they shouldn't be derided), we're taking about large groups of people who've gone for years, through the good, bad and ugly, who now feel forced to stay away such is the disdain for how the club is being run. It's a gut wrenching decision for many people, and they don't deserve to be chastised or patronised for making that decision.

 

Naughty naughty, I'd suggest everyone who attends are commited, unfortunately some expect 3 points every home game, I can understand fans feeling let down but not renewing is not an option for me as I've posted previously, I cant walk away at my age.

 

Agree unfortunately it seems to be leveled at all fans if they renew or not, it really is pathetic, if you have found other things to do on a Saturday afternoon good for you there shouldn't be any need to apologise and vice versa if you want to renew you shouldn't be called out.

 

I stopped going after 45 yrs season ticket holder ,I went up and down the country following city, it got to be a chore going, as fellow supporters were dying , ill , work commitments & getting disinterested and eventually I stopped going and now at 58 yrs of age , I go play snooker,have a pint in the local club ,have a good laugh or take the wife out , which ,in the past if City lost , Saturday nights I'd be a miserable Twit , I can even get free tickets to go if I want, even a dodgy fire stick I'd fall asleep watching city. I know a few that just don't bother going now and " can't be arsed " and it got me wandering ...............ís it just a natural progression that people just get fed up what's on offer and fall away?

 

We have to remember that although the product on the pitch will be a significant reason for not renewing, there will be other factors too, not least the impact of the increasing cost of living on families. The one positive I can say about the club at the moment is thankfully they have kept the direct debit payment option.

Waving good-bye to fans who are not renewing for whatever reason, is not good news for anyone, least of all the Club, and trying to suggest otherwise is misguided, nor is it vaguely funny.

Being football supporters is a bit different to most hobbies or activities we just seem almost duty-bound to go. Probably because its a big part of your life ie you go with friends and family it's certainly kept me in touch with friends that might have drifted over the years. But I have to say when other people start to not want to come and if they do your all sat there pretty fed up with what your watching it's hard to carry on justifying to yourself that it might improve. I've been doing that this season in particular.

I don't know if I'll renew. There's something wrong with the club, the atmospheres toxic at times and the players just don't seem to be able to perform at the level they should. I can live with a team that's not the best and doesn't win every week I'd say that's part of what makes supporting a club like City enjoyable when we are winning but there's got to be realistic hope.

I'm not a Rupp hater he could have just got rid and he hasn't. It needs a change of ownership for me now he's not willing to take the real hits it requires to move us forward.

At the end of the day it's down to each and every individual to make a personal choice.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, being responsible in reply whilst showing some respect for others goes a long way regardless of your views on a subject.

 

Sometimes in life you have to nail your colours to the mast for the future, for me personally it's going to be hard after all these years of supporting the club but its so obvious the club are floundering with lack of investment on the pitch and iff nothing is done i honestly can see the club fail with these present incumbents, none of us wants to see this so the only weapon i have is not to renew.
