    What would change your mind?

For me, the only thing that would do it, given Rupp and Sparks are unlikely to see the light and move on, is the appointment of a Director of Football.

That is the only way I would consider renewing, and possibly even after the prices go up to perfectly honest.

In the Accy thread, before it was locked, you were calling for my head as well, Jon. Does this mean you've changed your mind or realised your error in calling me out?, if the latter I will be happy to accept an apology for your misdirected and inaccurate comment.

I don't think they will be moving on any time soon, not with him wanting 10 million for the club. Not owning the ground and training facilities.

I don't think anyone liking 'wheat from the chaff' WUM posts should be associated with the club in any official capacity.

No, I absolutely will not apologize unless of course you have already rescinded your status as associate director.

    Completely unacceptable and uncalled for.

The club desperately needs a new direction. I'm undecided yet as to renewing but if a new owner came in I wouldn't even be thinking about it. It will be six seasons in league 2 next season with just one disastrous playoff spot to show in that time. If that isn't a damning indictment on the the utter shitshow this club sees itself in then I don't know what does.

Whilst I don’t want this to become a pile on of you or anyone else, you must see why Jon said what he did.

I think it’s fantastic that you post on here and we get insights we wouldn’t normally get don’t get me wrong, but liking that comment was totally unprofessional and uncalled for. Yes you are a fan but people also know you and you are a representative of true club and should act accordingly, create a second account if you want to act like that.

If I liked a controversial post on twitter for instance using my identity and customer’s complained I’d be sacked no ifs buts or maybes.

Try to remember you are talking to the customers of the company you represent, rather than piss them off more maybe see where certain areas of the fanbase are coming from and try to make a positive impact on the club, you are in a position to have those at the tops ear, something most on here would kill for. To me liking that comment just about summed this club up atm though, I hope for change.

    Well said.

I did of course go back to that post in the Accrington thread to remind myself what I'd said specifically, and I suppose any term of any offence was 'Cheshire cats'.

What is the Cheshire cat? A character that grins mischievously - similar to someone liking wind up posts, for example - and who has gone 'quite mad'.

Considering there are folk on here who have gone through thick and thin for decades longer than I have (50 years+ in some cases), it's 'quite mad' to call them chaff for not wanting to renew at increased prices under the current circumstances.

I don't think I've said anything remotely wrong. I doubt @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler can honestly say that liking that post wasn't wrong, however.

EDIT: I also reiterate that it's great having Roger on here, and I don't want him to stop posting or sharing insights - though I think an apology is owed to the members of this forum.

We are leaving it right to the wire to see if anything changes at the top before making the final decision. It is not enjoyable anymore and that isn’t just about the team not winning although that would help but the lack of engagement with fans concerns is.

The club won't be seeing another penny of mine until Rupp and Sparks are gone. As things stand there is absolutely no incentive to waste a Saturday afternoon or weeknight going down to watch whatever tripe gets dished up, and nothing will change with these two at the helm

I too will leave it as late as possible (if at all) to renew. Where is the long term plan that shows we’re looking beyond the current manager. If we get off to a poor start next season will Sparks, and I quote from the forum, “take decisive action and remove the manager”? If so how does that play into a long term strategy?
There’s more to like than not like about GA but lessons should have been learnt from the Parky era. Nothing in place for the future and seemingly we’re in the same position again. Ideally a replacement for Sparks and Rupp is my ideal scenario. Failing that, an experienced CEO with proven track record in developing long term strategies would be acceptable.

I agree with all the last minute sentiments, But I doubt very much anything at all will change before the early April deadline for keeping your existing seat. Looks like there might be some prime seats going begging.

I will only renew when Rupp & Sparks are gone.
A DOF will only get controlled by Sparks anyway.
Walking away is hard after years and years, I have seen worse times on the field but never in the boardroom.

I’ve got a feeling that those waiting for Rupp to leave will be waiting a long time. Despite conspiracy theories by some people I don’t think there’s anyone out there who’s a credible investor who would pass an EFL test. Maybe a few tyre kickers as Mark Lawn used to call them. It’s alright constantly shouting Rupp out but we need to know who we are shouting for to come in. In short there needs to be a credible person to get behind.

A little success would be a good start, I don't believe for one minute people attend games at Valley Parade only because our season tickets are cheap they obviously have some connection to the club some more than others.
If the product on the pitch was better than it has been for many years dare we say with a promotion thrown in fans wouldn't care who owns the club or is CEO, I'd think.

What I can’t understand is the sheer lack of any clear planning for the future. We don't just only buy a ST for entertainment and progression for one season. If anything our admins and problems in the past should have taught us to always be two steps ahead. That kind of planning requires experience and talent to take this club forward.

However, before we can do that we have to evaluate the past. Let’s be honest we have miserably failed for 5 seasons. We have to unpick that and accept that massive mistakes have been made and be prepared to acknowledge short comings from the top down. That is what successful businesses do.

Bumbling along with our fingers crossed is no way to run a business.

I'm not going to renew for exactly that reason. This season has beena real chore to go and watch City. I've actually been glad games have been cancelled so I've had an excuse not to go.
I couldn't face going on Tuesday night. I knew the result before we kicked off. That's nothing to do with GA but we've been shooting ourselves in the foot with games like this all season. Just when we need a result we f##k it up.
I've been going to games at other clubs, including a few Halifax and last week decided to go watch the Dumfrieshire derby between Annan and QoS. I'm looking at maybe doing a few games in Europe too. I'd rather travel hundreds of miles to a game than go to VP. My loyalty has been ground away in the years since Rahic and Rupp took over and the decline this club has gone through.
I will POTG next season. I've totted up the home games this season I've attended and plus those I've paid to watch on I follow and it probably would have cost me the same if I'd POTG.
If we do well next season I'll go to more games, so the club will actually be up on me not renewing.
I'm not bothered about Rupp et al. I just want to see us win and compete for promotion.

For me Jon its the influx of investment, obviously its not going to be from the present incumbents but from someone that can take us foreword and give us more proof of ambition not sustainability, how can the club expect fans to turn up in there droves iff the club are prepared to just rot in this division or lower, because make no mistake iff no investment comes forth the inevitable will happen and the club will fail
