I remember the Schwarzer chant - “skippy, skippy, skippy the bush kangaroo”!

had that silver Beaver (Diamond Seal) GK kit and was still wearing the shorts about 10 years on (minus the padding…..remember when they had foam inserts) - bought an oversized pair in a sale once so they listed into adult life ha ha! Beaver badge had long fallen off but they were indestructible for lounging around in at home.

It feels a bit cheaty to put Schwarzer at the top of a list, given his short time here, and I did think Clarke was a bit overhyped given the England calls. For all he was good, he seemed a bit of a Chesney Hawkes - not his fault really due to injuries. I’d probably put Gary Walsh as my top dog as a result. He had a good pedigree alright, even if his kicks were a bit iffy at times!

Donovon Ricketts on his day was class - he might fumble a cross but then he did some legitimate world class saves out of the top corner the next minute. His understudy Paul Henderson was brilliant when he got his chance too.

Liked Combe, Ben Williams (who I’d forgotten about until seeing the Transfermarkt link) too.

Schwarzer would have been my number 1 if he'd been with us longer, at least for a whole season.

It was always highly debated when we were in the Prem, but I always thought because of their styles Clarke looked the better keeper, but Walsh was the better keeper. When you are usually in the right place your saves don't look as spectacular.

Aidan Davison was great for us in a couple of spells, he was a big part of us staying up in 1997. I only caught the back end of Tomlinson but he performed for us at a higher level than most so that elevates him. So they pip the likes of Gould, Ward, Ricketts and Henderson for me.

    Walsh
    Schwarzer
    Clarke
    Tomlinson
    Davison

Yeah Davison was very good. Seem to remember him having a good game vs Spurs for some reason.

Surprised how few times Gavin Ward has been mentioned. However I didn’t realise how few games he played for us, similar to Schwarzer.

Matt Clarke - easily the most talented in my 30 odd years. Closely followed by Schwarzer - expellent short spell.

Walsh, Nixon, Davison, Henderson worth a mention too.

I remember us playing Charlton and we had to win to keep any hope of us staying up c1997. It may have been a Thursday night, Davison was in goal at VP, Charlton had a point blank chance ( May have been Mark Bright, who'd earlier been taunting the kop about us going down), Davison got down to his right at the Bradford end and pulled off a breathtaking save. The ball rebounded back out, to where Charlton had another free hit at goal, somehow Davison got back up and flung himself to his left , again made an amazing save. The ball went the other end and Pepper scored the only goal of the game to give us a lifeline.
Davison was an underated keeper, and was a bit of a wild but friendly character according to former playing colleagues.

How about the worst keeper to play for us, start off with Robert Zabica and Brad Jones

The word on that was that Man City wanted Mark Schwarzer but couldn't afford him, we then stumped up £350,000! for him, then a few months later sold him to Middlesbrough for £1,500,000!
