RE Zesh Rehman, don’t forget Omar Khan was involved with the club (partnership)? just before he signed. It wouldn’t surprise if his money paid Rehman’s wages at the time. He had played at a higher level for Fulham tbf so it wasn’t a bad signing on paper. In practice though…….I can’t remember a City captain getting hauled off at HT before!

Everyone who supports City is entitled to an opinion and you are certainly entitled to yours. I wish we had better than Taylor AND Stubbs but they are City players and while they wear claret and Amber will get my support (and criticism) when either are warranted.
If you carry on with this campaign of vitriol towards Ash Taylor you run the risk of rather than just being seen as someone with an opinion you will start to look like an a*s*ole.

Ha, no such danger this time. I think he has been picked as he was better than Stubbs with his distribution in the first games GA oversaw. But he wouldn’t be in my XI. Stubbs was good enough to partner Platt last year and I think he’s a leader, for all his recent form has been terrible and he deserved dropping. Id like to see Tomkinson at some point.

kelly has been great lately. Nailed his spot in that back 5. Platt been superb since recalled too.

 

I agree Taylor was good in the second half. Some of us, had Richards.

Look I support the manager, who knows better than me.

We'll see what happens in the next few matches. But for me we have CB's and a defence good enough to concede less than a goal a game (on average) between now and the end of the season.

Should I bother voting?

 

I can't believe that anyone who watches football regularly genuinely expected anything other than a red to appear out the ref's pocket. It wasn't even in doubt.

 

He has been underwhelming in the games I have seen him play live. Happy to change my vote later to a higher number.

 

Taylor is good in a back 3 but not in a back two.

 

Watch it from the angle shown on the highlights and he's too far out with enough covering players to prevent it being a red, we've all seen far far worse examples of players getting a yellow when through one on one (which he wasn't), especially keepers.

It's all down to one man, the ref, and I reckon that 50% of them wouldn't have shown red.

 

He's a stride or two from the penalty area, Platt is no where near, you can't see Kelly in the shot and Richards is too far up the field to have a chance of getting back.

Who exactly are the covering players?

That is the very definition of a "denying a goal scoring opportunity" red card

 

Our goal is promotion and Ash Taylor is nowhere near to being up to the standard required for that - that’s the issue for me. Non-league standard

 

And will be totally out out of his depth if we ever reach L1 again
We should be looking at/signing players who will not only get us out of this league but be capable of keeping us in L1
Taylor unfortunately doesn't look capable of either

 

I voted 5 , We have had much better and far worse.
If we are looking at a poor player, any of the current loanee's , tomkinson aside, never seen him play or Osadibe. Non would get above a 2 from me and 1 of those points is for actually turning up to the correct stadium on a match day.

 

Apparently prior to his red card GA felt Taylor was having a good game. That's all we need, another manager who doesn't know what he is talking about. Our new boss isn't going to endear himself to our more knowledgable contributors on this forum with statements like that.

 

Either that or he's a sensible manager who knows throwing his own players under the bus is very unwise.

Decent bit of sarcasm though.
