It's easy to see why this club has bumbled from one bad owner to the other and spent most of it's life in the lower 2 leagues. All these fans happy to sit back and see it's constant failings and wear it like a badge of honour. It's obvious the vast majority are of an age where time is running out for them and you would think they would want to see some mild success before the end comes. But no they just want to sit on their hands and pray.

Woah, we've seen City in the premiership and then fall like a stone back to where we started......we are now where we fully deserve to be......

Sparks will s@@t it at any protest he can’t gain any credibility. Worse case Rupp gets his money back from a buyer. It’s the new regime have to sort stuff out like a 7 year shirt direct not even direct with supplier

Sparks confirms, in this article from August 2021, that the club receives one approach a month.
You might have a laugh at the first sentence.

He had a good teacher in Edin, I don't know no more than the next fan what goes on at Valley Parade but with regard the poster your quoting he only joined Nov 6, 2023 have a read of his/her 12 posts which he/she is entitled to post you might get the drift of why he joined.

His weird substitution at Carlisle was the killer for most but once again the fans backed the club even though at times it was difficult but as we've discussed why didn't he keep the same system/formation and bring 3/4 better quality players in for the positions he felt we were weak, Unbelievable Jeff.

Because the fans were already on his back and demanding more attacking formations/tactics.

    This cannot be denied.

Why he caved, I'll never know.

Can't hold Sparks responsible for the last 7 years I believe he took the job on 26 November 2020, Rupp has little interest with regards football but how do you come to the conclusion "he hates football", We all have our take on who's responsible for appointments within the club but the playing side of the game has got to be the responsibility of the manager.

    Did they, though, Jon?

I think if he had approached games with the mentality Kevin McDonald did (pressing, allowing Smallwood to go forward etc) I think fans would have been happy.

I don’t understand why Hughes decided he needed to introduce full backs to get us width which, bizarrely, meant our most reliable defender, Halliday, was dropped for Oyegoki (sic).

I think if he found a pacey replacement for Crichlow and a similar replacement for Banks, to go with the decent signing of Pattison, we’d have been happy enough without s drastic formation shift.

We just wanted him to tinker his approach and take the shackles off more, as we drew too many last year, but instead he tore everything apart and recruited players for a wing back system.

    Oh, absolutely.

I remember the conversations and explaining how a return to long ball 442 wouldn't work, but it was lost to some on here.

The discussions happened again and again and again.

The fans, in the stadium, routinely booed passing plays, even if they transpired to be successful and led to a shot on goal - the boos were simply because they started at the back!

So yes. They absolutely did. Categorical.

I think most fans wanted him to show more ambition in matches, agreed. But views were probably split on whether we’d need a formation shift to produce that, or just a more positive mindset.

Cook propped us up last year in an unsustainable way (scored some superb solo goals he just couldn’t carry on bagging forever) so I do accept we needed to improve our creativity and attacking output. But even putting in Pattison helped and we could have used Pointon more under Hughes instead of Odour and the useless loanees.

It's a crying shame Pattison is basically another player on the sidelines so often for us.

A potentially very good signing has become a disappointing one.

Disagree Hughes told us time and time again we would play his way as long as he was the manager, fans buying season tickets in good numbers again suggest otherwise although it wasn't a great watch last season most expected that one step further this season, but for what ever reason he thought ripping up the blue print and going in a totally different direction was the right call.

Maybe that was part and parcel of Hughes coming to Valley Parade Hughes makes all the calls with regards the footballing side, we had a CEO who wanted input into the footballing side that didn't turn out to well.

For whatever reason, he definitely did do that.

But there's zero question that the fans were on his back demanding change - it just transpired change was a terrible idea.

And I thought you was one of the more sensible posters, why would you want to stop the likes of me going to my seat in the SunwinStand I certainly wouldn't take kindly to someone trying to stop me, do what YOU want but don't do it at the expense of other fans who may not want to follow like sheep.

Why have we a right to know if there are interested parties out there, in my last job I finished my shift on Friday at 9pm after finishing work and starting on Monday at 6am I found out I was working for an American company, you know businesses don't want to make it common knowledge they are interested in purchasing a club unless it benefits them, just look at the WAGMI situation coming on here as if the deal was done only to back down when Rupp threated taking legal action against them for what they made public.
