I dont see him selling whilst we are in L2. It's manageable still for him. I think if we were in L1, his asking price is very much more meetable and acceptable, but I also don't see us getting promoted with the model he has in place and the people running the show. It's like we'd have to luck ourselves to promotion then see if anyone comes to the table. Also got to think with these protests or whatever, how much of it will fall on deaf ears with him being about 700 miles away? How much will he really care? I'm sure Spark will do some standard PR about it but right now, I don't even see how much he'll be bothered by it.

What ever Sparks (this house it big enough for the both of us) says is not worth anything. the product is failing bad... Saturdays first half display was one of the worst I have seen from City since 1973 and by goodness I have seen some bad stuff.... the crowd were totally against the board and certain team members ....not good ...my 14 year old said dad we are pooo arent we?

We sign players because the fans are restless? That's weak management.
The CEO should ensure a footballing strategy within the club.
He hasn't, we don't have a strategy and the result is we are 19th in League Two.

If there were any parties seriously interested in the club, I'd like to hear from them. As it stands the only people we have ever heard from are WAGMI, any other "interest" is in the imagination of social media and message board posters.

Why have none of these parties making "initial enquiries" ever become public? You can't make someone who has made an initial enquiry sign a NDA.

An excellent summary of our current predicament. We need to get behind the players whenever they go out on the pitch but our wonder should also be made aware that we are not happy with him effectively washing his hands with us as long as his remit is met by Sparks. Just a modicum of ambition would be a start.

Insane that some people can think the fans are more culpable for the clubs failure on the pitch than the CEO, makes me think Sparks is on this board :joy:

I suppose it's down to the bidder if they want to go public or not? I think the only two were Huw Jenkins and Wagmi and going so public whilst actually having nothing singed off went sideways for Wagmi fairly quickly. But, how much can they say publicly if the conversations never got past "he wants how much?!"

If say some millionaire plants a story in the press to say he offered £6m for the club and Rupp said he wants £9m for example (no idea if that is exactly what he wants), I'm not sure how much that will achieve going public? Makes the bidder have publicly listed what he is willing to spend on a club which might be a bad bargaining chip for down the line. Make Rupp look like he isn't willing to budge and improves nothing with the fanbase. Unless you get fairly close with talks like implementing your pitch to Rupp/Sparks and having meaningful talks, I don't think knowledge will ever see the light of day as it doesn't really help any party involved. Like Newports sale, they were a fan owned club losing over £1m a year and couldn't afford to stick to their plan so the club was put up for sale. Even when they were owned by a fan trust with an elective board, news of bids didn't come out until the general meeting was announced to discuss the two approved final bids that had been going on for a while between Huw Jenkins (who won the vote) and an American consortium. Guessing that it's solely down to the bidder if they want to talk or not.

The only thing I find if I google Huw Jenkins and Bradford is reports on the league cup final and the McBurnie deal. Again, any supposed interest in him buying us seems to have been an invention of supporters.

I'm not suggesting anyone would go into any specific detail about what they are willing to pay/invest, but if there were genuine bidders who wanted to make a go of it and were being rebuffed, being given a ridiculous price or made to sign NDA's (which is what the implication of many posts on here is) then I am sure we would know about it. The likelihood is that any interest the club has attracted is from the usual speculators or fantasists, rather than much genuine interest.

If I win a Euromillions roll-over, I will get representatives to reach out to the club and report back along the lines of "they won't even discuss a potential asking price or listen to an offer without a NDA".

Have you not read the message board when we go 3 weeks in a window without signing anyone? You stated Sparks should grow a pair and block signings,I’ve replied with a hypothetical scenario as to what would happen if he did that. Maybe Sparks should just block the crap signings and allow what few decent ones Hughes and Gent came up with.

The fans don't run the club. Sparks is getting paid to make those decisions and get the majority right.
He will never get them all right.
At the moment he is getting the vast majority wrong.
We've come out of the summer window in a far worse position than we started it.
'Lean and Mean' became 'Bloated and Weak'.

Sparks is not paid to getting signings right, that is for the manager and Stephen Gent, and they are the ones who got it hopelessly wrong this summer.

Sparks has signed the deals off. He has to push back on some of these deals.
It's clear we've done some really bad business in the summer.

I don't know what was the worse signing in summer.

Clarke Oduor. 3 years. Couldn't get in a stinking Hartlepool team.

Ash Taylor. Turning circle of the QE2. Laughed out of his last two English clubs. 2 years.

Oduor getting 3 years is bonkers.

I guess Hughes just wanted everyone long term so he could sell them, but this is League Two, not the Premier League.

I can't imagine an experienced DoF anywhere in England advocating 3 year deals for players like Oduor.

Jon you keep coming up with ideas on protest why not use your ideas by joining one of the supporters organisation or form one of your own and get it recognised. That way you can do something positive and give a voice to the like minded instead of balmy ideas

Balmy ideas? Like a sunset walk down a palm-lined seafront?

    Oh, you mean barmy!

Rahic has left the club. That's a positive. Protest is as valid a form of expression as just becoming another subjugate group asking irrelevant questions at meetings, like "can we have pool tables in fire exit walkways".

A fan group with an alternative voice is not the worst idea I've ever heard, though.

If enough fans join these organisations then the agenda can be changed. The people who shout the loudest on forums like these are quiet as mice when they are in a forum that matters
