    Sparks signed off the deals!
He needed to grow a pair and say no to MH.

I agree with most of these comments but it’s a thin dividing line between making constructive comments to the manager and interfering with transfer business which should be solely down to Hughes and Gent. Imagine the reaction had Hughes said publicly that he had several players lined up but Sparks blocked them.

The club should have a strategy though. ie -
Nothing longer than a 1 year deal for over 32 year olds.
Nothing longer than a 2 year deal until we've worked with the player for at least 6 months.
Must fit into our preferred formation which is X.
His position in the team will be Y and he has the attributes and skill set we need because his strengths are ABCD.

MH should have been made aware of said strategy at interview stage.

Otherwise, we end up here. Rolling the dice every 18 months.

Can’t keep blaming the manager. It’s lazy saying oh the Board are not playing football.

Who picks the manager, who sacks a manager? What is Bradford City’s playing style? What is the clubs vision?

Look Rupp and Sparks are fully to blame for us going backwards. Can’t even blame Edin!

You stay at home if you can’t handle the heat but things need to get serious and we need to make sure Sparks & Rupp understand that they need to go!
The CEO signs off the deals

When a club has no plan this is what happens!

Having a strategy is business 101, yet our PrOuD cUsToDiAn leaves us with a social media admin moonlighting as CEO. Zero plan, zero ambition, and yet some think that's perfectly fine.

But he knows nothing about football so how could he challenge Hughes? He had to trust him and sadly whoever was responsible for the signings and length of contracts was either completely incompetent or simply mad. If Hughes had wanted to destroy the club he could hardly have done a better job. We will be suffering the effects for years and it could yet be fatal.

You need to look higher up the ladder mate
It was Sparks who gave him the job and his poor judgement to back him lead us to the predicament we are now in
Unless someone shakes the magic money tree and pays off the long contract no hopers we are stuck in L2 for this and at least another season no CEO worth his salt is going to sign off on employing any of them which just leaves us carrying the can
Yes Hughes isn't responsible for 7 years decline but he is is for the next 2 seasons at least, endorsed by Mr Sparks sadly

Gent DM'd him on Linkedin, hardly a well thought out search to recruit him was it? A few duds too? If you're on the wind up then fair play because this is a cracker.

You talk about the legacy of the last 12 months regarding Hughes, when it's been 6 years of the same thing? So each manager had a legacy we had to undo and that doesn't ring any alarm bells?

Clubs have gone into admin in the meantime and done better, this Rahic excuse is so boring. How long has it been now :joy:

TLDR; I think we're at the point where if you can't tell what the problem is then you'll never get it. Same as those who would've thought Rahic wasn't a problem. I mean to even use the "Rupp doesn't pick the team or sign players" logic is just concerning.

Ryan's public mantra is "Why buy a dog and bark yourself?" and sits back and hopes it works. He is part of the entitled generation who throws isms about. Criticise him and your are employing ageism. He loved the BLM taking the kneee period and instructed the clubs legal team to fight so called 'racist' West Midlands Police in the case of Richards-Everton. The media attention damged the club in my opinion. He opened a prayer room, flies LGBT + flags, paid for Scotte Sllars to attend an expensive FIFA school depsite him turning down a job at City. He rewards his mate Trueman with a lucrative long contract. He ordered the club paid for 5* accomodation for an Argentinian kid to stay in while on holiday, as kids in Bradford barely have enough money to afford bus fare to Valley Parade. He helps his mate run rip of summer camps that leave fans feeling short changed and bitter. The list goes on and on. He needs to go but no one else will employ him.

If we want a protest against Rupp & Sparks then start with a demonstration outside Morrisons stand car park 3000should block the car park up & stop happy clappers going up to the suites
A 90 mins demonstration will or longer cause havoc to fans going into main stand
finish at 2.45 the go into the ground & support the team
Maybe Sparks will wake up then he can't say he would not be able to hear it unless he's not there

What is the aim of this Rupp out campaign. There,s hardly a queue of potential owners desperate to buy our club which has no assets and could be in non league next year.Whats he supposed to do,announce he's listened to the fans and sell us off to the highest bidder?

    Nonsense!

Every multi-millionaire businessman with a desire to throw millions of pounds at a football club wants to buy City however, as soon as the thought so much as forms in their mind, Rupp makes them sign a NDA so we never get to know about it.

Let’s go to an alternative last June and you got your wish and Sparks intervened. In our alternative June fans are growing restless that we haven’t signed anyone. In frustration Hughes goes to the T&A and says I’m frustrated I had three really good players lined up to sign but Sparks knocked all three back as he said they weren’t good enough. One was a premier league player, one was a championship player who scored a crucial goal for them and the third was a Scottish Premier league player and all three would have been terrific for us. The fans would have been up in arms and maybe wanting to throw tennis balls about and this message board would be in meltdown. We weren’t to know that the 3 players were Oyegoke, Odour and Taylor and all three would be crap. That’s down to Hughes and Gent not Sparks to interfere.

I take it your comments were an aim at humour. If not then you should know that every deal, with the exception of those which need reporting to the Stock Exchange as a 'possibility', will have some form of NDA in place. I know I've been involved with them but not with City!

Dunno if he got inside scoops for business contacts, or something from MacAnthony as he might well know from circles around the leagues. But the city fan who does a podcast with the Peterborough owner tweeted over the weekend to a fan that Rupp has had plenty of interested parties come to him with an offer, but his asking price is what you'd pay for a top end L1 club in the current climate and nobody gets past the initial enquiry because Rupp wants too much.

Just in our league we have Swindon, Gillingham & Newport who have all been bought in the last year. Wrexham and Stockport who were bought in the last few years with a plan to go up the leagues, there is interest in clubs at this level but there needs to be a potential for the sale and if he wants L1 money for us, bidders will quickly move on.

Unless there is a immediate need to sell the seller dictates the price. A bit like myself and a house I've been selling. I wasn't under any pressure to sell, had to explain that a few times to the estate agent when she told me of stupid bids. And yes I did receive an offer I thought was acceptable in the end. We might not like what Rupp is doing but as it stands it's financially ticking over for him.

It’s clear that Rupp got Edin to sign a confidentiality agreement though. What has Rupp got to hide? Suppose nothing if you do nothing.

A protest is the way to go for me. I’d happily chuck a few tennis balls on to the pitch but our current squad don’t need any more excuses for their quite frankly depressing performances.
People who question the protests or call people out for coming up with suggestions are part of the problem for me. These people are custodians of your football club and they are running it into the ground. They are laughing at you.
Protests do work and not just in football circles. Strikes around the country are a similar tactic and result in the people taking to the streets and eventually getting the pay rises etc that they feel they deserve. If we want change then just blindly turning up each game isn’t going to result in change.
It won’t be immediate and it won’t be fun but if 3-4000 people stand outside VP demanding Sparks resign then without a doubt he would eventually. If potential owners see in the press that the fans have turned on the owners then they might see it as a good time to come in with an offer to tempt Rupp to sell.
These scenarios are all hypothetical but it’s always better to do something than nothing at all. We have to get them out of the club. Our club, not their club.

Im sure Sparks has heard that the natives are restless and we probably will hear shortly a statement of intent whether that will appease everyone who knows.
