I agree we need some sort of progress report. But Sparks is dammed I’d he does and dammed if he doesn’t. Whatever he says someone will jump on a sentence and turn it round like they always do. Probably best to say nowt from his point of view

Thing is, nobody is going to remember that Sparks didn't say anything in 6 months time.

But if he makes a promise he can't keep, it will be held against him for years.

He's best saying nothing, or next to nothing. Perhaps a super vague statement.

Friend of mine is a friend of a friend kind of thing of Richardson, think it was his sister in law he is friends with. Anyway, he said she told him Richardson was having an interview but that was 2 or 3 weeks ago now and my pals heard nothing since.

It isn't though. It shows a lack of leadership. It shows weakness and indecision.

Let's work it through a bit. Hypothetically, let's say he wasn't planning to sack Hughes when he did, maybe something suddenly triggered it, that's OK, he releases him, he's allowed a few days to think things through, get a plan together. He puts Kev in charge to give himself some breathing space. Bit left field but shown to be a decent decision.

He's then 3/4 days "post Hughes", applications are already coming in. He's not uploading a job description on CV library! People start calling him the day Hughes leaves. But let's say he maps out 3-5 candidates and spaces their interviews over a week. At this point we're 2 weeks "post Hughes".

In reality, we're 4 weeks after so what's happened? New candidate popped up? Further due diligence? Second meeting? Negotiation with another club?

It's really only the last of those that adds on more than a day or two and so when we map the whole thing out rationally we can appreciate 2-3 weeks to announce the new manager but at 4 weeks it just seems odd and suggests indecision or something has gone wrong.

Not exactly filling the Bristol fans with confidence, reading the replies to the Rovers journalists tweet.

Wild would be a good choice if we could get his release. Better than any of the favotites mentioned

We seem to have failed by employing so called proven managers in the passed.
Why not try a different approach with a proven top coach who was invited to work closely with Man City under21 recently and worked closely with Pep during that time. He has been assistant to
Steve Bruce with different clubs over a longer period.
    Stephen Clemence
In a recent interview with Sky Sports he helped Jack Grealish during his time at Villa and Allan Saint-Maximin during his time at Newcastle, both of who gave him rave reports on his training techniques, which have help them further their careers.(This interview is a good read.)
According to reports he has been recently interviewed at Gillingham.
    Manager in the making?

A club that was on the ball would have been making phone calls after the Walsall game. The writing was on the wall.
Sparks could have interviewed Cowley, Holden & Richardson on the Monday before the Tranmere game.

My worry is that he only wants to be a Manager now Steve Bruce can't get a decent job.
He's been quite happy being on the coaching staff for 10 years.

He’s more than happy to be front and centre when he’s announcing another £100 a week sponsor though.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the biggest decision he will ever take - the appointment of the person who will hopefully give every supporter of the club what they want in promotion,we get the square root of fu@k all from him.
I’ve no qualms with them taking their time but it’s been nearly 4 weeks since Hughes was sacked and we’ve had no info at all.
Nobody expects chapter and verse about every applicants interview.
Just a few words maybe on the timescale and possibly the number of applicants still in the frame.

Also,if he’s scared of making a comment in case some spotty keyboard warrior on here calls him a nasty name ,he’s probably not cut out to be a CEO of a football club.

As a shot in the dark, but if City are to look at a non league manager, then it would not harm to check out Kevin Phillips.
He did a great job at South shields with a 57% win rate.
    Just my opinion.

I bet Marti Cifuentes (??) wasn’t on any QPR new manager betting lists.

We should have started after the Morecambe defeat never mind Walsall.
