I wouldn't be so sure. Most people who are prone to condescension are lacking in self awareness and emotional intelligence.

Full odds list after the market was activated again. Holden and Cowley seem to be in a race of their own. Holden is 5th fav for the Bristol R job, Cowley is the fav for both the Lincoln & Grimsby roles.

 

Just watch,the two people we most wanted will get jobs with other clubs,and we will be back to square one.

So my 11th hour nomination would be Pete Wild. Been mentioned a few times earlier but seems to have gone off radar latterly for more fancied names. Appreciate he's largely unproven at this level but he does well with what he's worked with (possible exception at Oldham if memory serves me correctly) and should be on the upwards trajectory with his career rather than looking to reinvent himself as is the case with most others now being spoken about. We've done the tried and tested manager merry go round so time for something different I think.

 

Knowing us, Cowley will go to Lincoln, Holden will go to Bristol and we will end up with Sol Campbell.

 

The point is this unlike most clubs at the moment certainly those where owners are desperate to unload because of debt. This club of field as been especially well run no externall debt and still producing top budgets and whilst that continues Rupp can wait to recoup his money. He must be impatient waiting for us to move forward on the field. But he can afford to wait till it happens

 

The difference being that at Gillingham there has been some communication so its easier to be more patient.

The only person the City fans have heard from is someone who was a player 6 weeks ago and has been asked to front up to all and sundry. Not faulting his effort at all. Its admirable. Its also unfair of the club to give the impression they're hanging him out to dry

 

Richardson doesn't seem to have moved at all. Perhaps suggesting he's never been in the race? Others have come in and gone out as rumours of "being in talks" surfaced.

My honest opinion is that Rupp and Sparks have spoken to a few people in a fairly uncoordinated manner without a real process of approaching the conversations and haven't really been impressed with anyone and are now wondering what to do and whether to go back to people they spoke to two weeks ago to have another chat.

McDonald is put on the spot in every post match interview about what the latest is regarding new appointment. McDonald has politely but firmly batted the question back.

The point is, if we had just a bit of updated information from Sparks like the Gillingham owner has been doing, perhaps fans would be a bit more patient

You were saying earlier that Holden was due in today, was that for talks or to finalise his contract, or was it just a false rumour you had heard?

 

And that impression comes from your own thoughts entirely. Absolutely no indication of that. My belief is that after all the recent failure by managers they want to get it right this time and possibly candidates being vetted by Rupp his self with several interviews and background checks

 

Of course he's not in the race. He wasn't the minute I stuck a tenner on him!

 

Speculation, but perhaps looking further afield. And delay may be work permit related.

 

Replied earlier but it was just something a bloke who's usually spot on posted on footy 365 earlier. But it was after Parker but his article out and everyone was mentioning Holden on twitter so I'm guessing he just put 2 and 2 together.

 

Agree. I've said my honest opinion in the post, and you know what Park? I'm entitled to one!

I'd like to believe what you write above i want there to be diligence and a process but Sparks needs to front up and update the fans as the figurehead. It's almost he's scared to say anything instead of standing up and showing leadership.

What I have seen is the odds on some managers shorten along with hearsay when some of them are allegedly coming in for talks and then the odds lengthen again.

Ultimately, there's only 2 of them involved in the decision making. Conference calls can be organised in minutes these days. People can travel in a day for a meeting. There's no real reason for it to take four weeks for a manager to be appointed unless we're negotiating compensation with another club. Even if they meet five potential managers they could do that over the course of one week. It would appear we'd still have takeweet least a week more than it could have done if well organised.
