I'm sure he'd take the job if the club were unwise enough to offer it to him.

 

Is he usually right on these things?

It always strikes me that the longer it goes without appointing a manager, the more convinced people (including Nixon) get that the current favourite is definitely THE guy.

But usually... it still isn't, and still means as little as the bookies installing Cowley as the favourite right at the beginning.

I'd be stunned if we appointed Holden.

Never in a million years on an 18 month deal offer . Good grief , Sunday pub manager might accept it , but a decent professional manager…. No chance

 

Maybe with Holden they have gone about interviews in the way I have wanted for years speaking to a good group of candidates looked for references and talked to people who know the candidates well. If they have done this and Holden is the choice I would welcome it

 

So 3 weeks and 134 pages later, not one of the candidates has universal backing from our fan base.
That tells me, they are all much the same, with no stand out candidate.
Just appoint someone before Saturday, we all know it will end in tears sooner or later.

 

You don't often get a sacking where almost all the supporters think it's a mad decision. But that seems to be the case there.

Hughes appeared out of nowhere and i agree to a man we all thought wow.
Just proves how wrong you can be and that no one knows how someone is going to perform when first appointed,

Doesn’t matter that the bloke interviewing is useless and wouldn't know a good manager if one bit him on the *@?$. You get most things wrong about this club so I'm not surprised to see you would welcome Holden

 

So doesn’t the fact that you have judged and dismissed him before a ball is kicked show what the matter with this club is

 

The problem with that appointment is that he won't get enough time. Fans will be on his back after a couple of defeats because they don't believe in him.

His record doesn't give you anything to believe in.

 

Unfortunately and particularly at this club with such high expectations nobody is going to be given time

 

I have to agree with Park on this one, if Holden has impressed the most in the interview process then he should absolutely get the role. Failure at other clubs doesn’t automatically dictate failure at another club in football, likewise that works the other way as we saw with Adams. Holden actually has a better win rate than Parky and at a very dis functional club in Charlton. I don’t know much about his style however , Sparks needs to make sure the masses are entertained as too often he goes for the turgid option. Just please don’t be a Paul Hurst and bore everyone to death again.

 

MH had 18 months and took us to 18th place.
