Sparks is fully culpable for this mess. Regardless of if he’s selling up or not, Rupp should be sacking him. What a complete mess we are in. I’d question any self respecting manager who’d actually want to inherit this team because it’s garbage. A goalkeeper who’s head has fully gone, a disastrous selection at centre back all who have no pace, and a poor left back with no competition.
Smallwood crap, Gilly inadequate and then a bunch of wingers who are more inconsistent than Charles Vernam.
Then to top it off a 32 year old, overweight striker who gets zero service and also has no competition so is always guaranteed a starting place.
I’m done this season and to be honest I don’t think I’ll be back until we have new ownership.

The one thing we can say is that with KMs downturn in results it's probably made the task easier for any incoming manager where if KM had continued with good results then any new guy would be on a hiding to nothing should he start poorly like Rooney at Birmingham, where as at least now we currently feel rock bottom.

 

Apparently ten managers have been sacked from the ninety-two clubs this month. Bradford City were one of the first but the dillying and dallying has lost them the advantage.
I've got a horrible feeling the Cowleys are on their way back to Lincoln though I hope sincerely they are not. I have little doubt that if your club had moved quickly they'd have been installed at Valley Parade now.

On paper we look a great opportunity for a manager to come in and potentially get the place rocking with huge crowds for our low standing, yes many will say that a lot of managers will stay clear of our basket case club with our history of constant hiring and firing, but I'm not sure if this is the case as football is unlike most things in life where as if it goes t1ts up and you get sacked then you get paid up the remaining contract to reward your failure And getting sacked from us will probably hold no bearing on their cv as we sack everyone

Next Grimsby manager market open, as you would expect it's basically a copy and paste of our list. From the interview their chairman did it doesn't sound like they have anyone lined up.

 

After seeing the state of the club and the squad, I'm not surprised no big names are linked.

So many managers sacked in last few weeks, did some of those clubs have a director of football because apparently they always get the appointment right. I’ve stated before ,getting the right manager is not an exact science and Sparks is just as likely to get it right as any other person. Lawn and Rhodes got us Taylor ,Jacko and Archie Christie before falling lucky. Richmond got us Jeffries, Hutchings. It’s getting the right man that suits the club at the right time.

 

Surely Rupp has to put his hand in his pocket to help out any new manager sort out the mess, which is obviously not going to happen, but just say he did which allowed us to right off some dead wood and cut our losses, and instead bring in a top mobile centre back, a top quality centre mid, a high quality get off ya seat type winger Kyle Reid mold and high quality striker totally different to Cooks style then I recon we'd be a good side.

 

Gareth Ainsworth...?

 

I'd definitely take a punt on him, yes his QPR record is miserable but like us I think their issues are deep and his lower league record with Wycombe is very good.

I know hence why I said it's not going to happen, but as bad as it is right now with his worth and in the interest of protecting his investment which if you believe rumours he values at £10m then the aunt of money required to pump in to try give us a shot in the arm isn't huge.

 

I get it. But I'm 100% of the mindset that his interest is limited specifically to the club staying afloat, hopefully land a promotion, ride it out till he gets an offer, and could very well be taking a dividend along the way. He'll put his hand in his pocket only to prevent us going down or bust, but not to invest in our growth.

 

For those defending Sparkes remember he’s been in charge of how many managers? The one constant (apart from true man)
