Next manager

No because that's not true what people do is call a poor result or performance as one. There is no unrealistic pressure here, we are a club who shouldn't have the issues we do. The right manager will get us out of this godforsaken league easily. But we won't have that until we have football people running the club.

Getting a club this size out of this league shouldn't be difficult at all but we keeping having the wrong people in the wrong positions both on and off the pitch.

The pressure we as fans put on the club is just

you talk about plans in his interview if he had one he might have produced a multi page dossier on how he was going to achieve and who he was going to use to get there. Much the same as Terry Dolan did all those years ago to bring him from rank outsider to nearly getting us into them first division.

 

Sounds like a match made in heaven. He's massively underachieved as a manager much like we have as a football club. What could possibly go wrong?

 

I would be asking him why things went badly wrong at his other club and was he following his dossier. Plus did the clubs plan and his dossier synchronise.

 

I still don't get this. In the past we have appointed managers proven at this level, given them decent budgets and no interference from above, and than have failed. I can't see how football people running the club would have made them a success

If it is Holden, his past is hardly inspiring. But we did get Phil Parkinson in after two disappointing spells up the ladder in his early career, so it's not something to completely write him off over.

Holden seems to have a very good coaching reputation in the game after reading up on him. He also prefers to back youth rather than look for experienced heads it seems. Holden doesn't appear to have a set tactic or style of play, it looks like he tries to setup the best way from the players he has after joining then develops from there. Could be a problem as at Charlton he tried 5 at the back, 433, 442 and a diamond with little consistency. Although a 433 with a sitting DM seems to be his most used tactic.

 

Holden nailed on. That would be a strange one.

 

Exactly that we appointed Adams with three promotions on his CV and is doing well again on next to nothing and we appointed Hughes who nearly all welcomed with open arms because of his contacts and the like.Salford have all the football knowledge in the world and can’t get it right. We need whoever is appointed to be given time and then live up to there CV and reputation

I suppose if it's Holden, it would help if he could win more than he loses in his career as a manager.

 

Whoever it is deserves a chance.

Hughes, Adams even going back to people like Grayson - “big” or “successful” managers all failures at the club, some huge failures. It doesn’t always work to get the “biggest” name.

Hopefully people give him time before the cycle starts again….

 

Don’t know enough of the applicants to choose. Based solely on what I have read I liked the sound of Leam Richardson who was coach and Manager at Wigan and achieved success in both roles and seems to play on the front foot and be popular with players. However he seems to have drifted out of the speculation

 

How do you know we haven’t brought in paid consultants.

The majority in last 2 seasons were appointed around 14/15 months before achieving promotion. That’s the aim for me promotion next season for anyone who comes in.
