We need to trim the fat in January. Ridehalgh, Taylor, Kelly, Tomkinson, Osadebe, Tulloch, Afoka, Derbyshire can all leave 1 way or another for me.

 

Well maybe we have enjoyed winning the last few matches our expectations had increased. New manager in place so real idea how he would play it. Plus a big slice of luck for them getting Lewis caught out after 5 mins.

 

Why? The new MK Dons manager did his homework on us and were able to play round us (using mainly their no2) because we had no width and then when we started chasing the game they were able to play through us. Bobby Pointon is a good player already and will get even better but last night he was given a footballing lesson from Jack Payne.
Fordy said let's see how Kevin McDonald reacts to a defeat or defeats, well he was probably right (arrrrrg..!!).
To me we let McDonald carry on for now and see how it pans out over the next few games because Karl Robinson has decided he isn't up to the job so has said he is not interested and to me there are no standout candidates out there. We need to get the next appointment bang on so let's not rush into it.
To be honest if McDonald gets the right reaction to last night from both the players and himself I would consider giving him the job until the end of the season, bringing in someone experienced to support him. If there was a standout potential manager out there I would feel differently about the situation.

You ever heard of the loan market? Its where you loan players to another club and they cover a proportion of the wages.

Alternatively we could what we did with other unwanted shite like Kelleher, Sutton, Foulds, Angol etc.

 

You are right mate, dodgy incident then not marking up from the resulting corner, then it snowballed.

Exactly. Our dreadful recruitment and ludicrous long contracts mean we're knackered for the foreseeable future.

 

It's getting other clubs to take them off our hands which is the worry, mind you we did find homes for Sutton and Kelleher. Cant see anyone taking Taylors 2 year deal. Ridehalgh wont be moved on as Richards fitness issues he's always had have crept back in.

Loans have been a failure, probably all cancelled come Jan. Lots of wasted budget, no idea how much of it will be free again in Jan.

 

That performance last night was completely tactically naive... Against that team we needed a low block and to hit them on the counter, rather than chasing shadows all night so we look like we're trying (with the added bonus of playing a very high line against pace with 2 very slow centre backs). I'm sure McDonald will learn from that but we're not exactly in a position to be allowing someone to learn on the job right now. His time will come but it's not now

But we haven't seen anything of Tomkinson yet apart from a five minute sub appearance v. Grimsby.

We do seem to bring in some dross in the loan market though, don't we?
To your list above you can add Bola, Costelloe and Nevers - who the hell checks these players out before signing them, because as sure as hell, Gent doesn't!
