To be fair he was hardly rushed back. Eased back into full training and two appearances off the bench before starting today.

Anyway, has anyone heard Hughes interview?
“We dominated the first half”.
“Players giving everything”.
“They executed the game plan in the most part”.
“We didn’t deserve to lose”.
“The ref gave them all the encouragement they needed”.

Almost an admirably calm interview, but I couldn’t believe some of the stuff I was hearing.

The guy has lost the plot. And this is me saying we can’t keep changing managers. I don’t think he’s watched the same game the rest of us have.

 

I think even if Ryan Sparks wants to keep him he knows we can't afford to be dragged into a relegation battle and if he wants to progress up the leagues he's got to show he can make the big decisions. As you say it's not just the results but the performances and I think the 2nd half summed that up tonight. We were probably better in the 1st half and individual mistakes cost us but yet again we couldn't put together a 90 minute performance. Only 6 teams have conceded 1st more times than us. It was only down to pure luck and awful goalkeeper we got a draw against Harrogate. Defensively we look much more vulnerable and already 1/3 of the way to last season's goals conceded total.

If we are to get top 7 we close to needing top 3 form for the rest of the season and I don't think anyone can see what will change for that to happen. We've had the excuse of injuries but we've got no defensive injuries so I don't see how we stop conceding so many goals.

 

I can't remember exactly what Adams said in his last interview but i'm sure I can recall him saying something very similar about keeping our nerve and we all know how that ended. If we looked like the last couple of games were off games or there was hope with lots of chances being created but nobody taking them I think he would have a point but apart from Newport we haven't.

 

I thought ref was just poor all round. He didn't influence result that's just a poor excuse.

 

13 points from 11 games, 35 left. Too three will need 83ish. To get that we need 70 points and at 2 a game, that's title winning form. Not going to happen.

 

It's also human nature to do.your job and not give up or it should be. What they did shows the attitude that they've got, and that does not get you far.

 

Hughes thought the penalty was a poor decision.
How he sees it from where he is is laughable.
I thought it looked the right decision.

Agree Dave. I've just spoken to my son and said I feel he will get until the end of the month, at a minimum.

 

I agree, I thought Mcdonald won the ball but you can't go in that high and reckless and follow through onto the man and expect it not to be given. Tbh Mcdonald was lucky not to get a 2nd yellow shortly after.

 

McDonald looked shot well before he conceded the penalty.
Just a nothing performance from him and too many others.

 

Clear penalty agreed. You can tackle 3ft in the air and follow through like that. Won the ball or not it was a dangerous challenge and the right decision.

Disagree. Adams was an arrogant prick. Hughes hasn’t come across as a big time Charlie at all. I like his understated demeanour. I just dislike his turgid football and can’t see any improvement.

 

Agree it’s not a personality thing with Hughes, the fans would love him if we were playing decent football. I don’t think anyone could ever warm to Adams. I wish Hughes all the best, but it needs to be somewhere else than here.

 

Can anyone look into Hughes’ betting company so I know where to switch to Platt - Lewis - Stubbs isn’t even offered on Paddy Power
