Or maybe Young was just simply peed off at not getting a chance but like I said what's the point in any kind of goalscorer in that set up ?????
The same happened with Doyle a fair few thought he was lazy etc and hey presto you stick him in a side that creates chances and suddenly they thrive ..............Cook in my opinion performed a miracle to get the goals he got last season so any striker coming in now is bound to struggle because we simply do not go after teams

Unfortunately Grimsby come with a bit of a reputation and will always get a few of our scum fans crawling out of the woodwork wanting a ruck.

There were problems on Midland Road after the game, I was amazed they didn't close the road off from the Kop side like they did last season unless I missed it as I came from the main stand. I saw the 41 year old getting arrested for being an idiot and trying to start fights with anyone who looked at him. Unfortunately, this will add against us again with game grading by the police even if it was away fans and if we play Grimsby next year it will be an early kick off again. Some people will never learn.

I’m not sure why Sky put so much faith in this sort of thing.
They do it with their Ref watch on Sky sports news.
It’s just the opinion of another person.
The fact he is an ex ref is completely irrelevant unless it’s a technical issue which we may not be aware of.
The majority of the incidents they pick are judgement calls anyway.
Ask 2 fans opinion and you may get 2 different opinions

What makes the ex refs decision any more worthwhile than the ref on the day?
like you say,why put the Afoka incident in?
I’m not sure anybody in the ground (including Afoka) thought it was a pen.

I suppose Sky have to fill time if nowts happening at Salford and Wrexham

There's also the fact that the media ref has the benefit of a video replay from different angles. Most fans never seem to understand how hard it is to get a decent enough view of every call to even get 70% right. Even that Mansfield hand ball looks obvious but in real time the ref can probably only see the defenders back. No way he can see where the contact is made but fans will still slaughter him.

You're spot on about the subjectivity of it all. Most fans berate referees for decisions that they disagree with even when there are loads who support the decision.

The Mansfield fans (from the other end of the ground) thought it was handball.

The Accrington fans(from 20 yards away) didn’t think it was.

    There’s a surprise.

To be fair I think that one was a handball. I don't blame the ref for not being sure mind.

Surprised there hasn’t been much praise on here for Gilly. He helped make the difference with a great showing. He fits in to whatever system we play

Looks like Stubbs could be out for Harrogate that would be a crushing blow on top of the other injuries

Apart from the goal he linked up well with Pointon on the right. Given the choice between him and smallwood I'd give Gilliead a run as captain.

To be brutally honest with you @Bigrod@Bigrod so would I, but as you know we have a group that includes a drinker who drinks two pints a fortnight and they have to be Tetley's'' or a Osset Blonde, have to be under £3, and have to be served on autovacs with the "perfect" head, and a 40 year old who thinks that the walk from TFC is akin to doing the West Highland Way.

My membership of Camra has taught me that beer doesn't have to be the perfect creamy head to be good as long as it's kept well (sadly something William failed to do in the death throws of the NBH), and I'm open to trying anything new to develop my beer taste, hence my liking for TFC.

I'm stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. You know my preferred style of pubs pretty much matches yours, give me a bit of heritage and I'm happy, but until I am released from this purgatory or rescued by some kindly soul. I miss meeting up with you, @Offcomedun@Offcomedun, Simon and Byron. Will have to put my foot down - possibly for Wrexham when Sam is awol.
