Changed to a back 4 and looked solid. Smallwood had a great game when he came on.

 

Much improved second half, so fair play and credit for that, as for the 3pts.

However it was far, far from convincing. Had Crewe been better in the final 3rd I feared we could have been well out of it by half time.

We’ve won, so off the back of Morecambe I’ll enjoy it. However we far from convincing and for sure reverting to a back 4 in the second half made us and each of the players look far more confident.

 

3 days worrying about the ref.
Only 2 yellows and not a single mention on here for the whole match.

 

Far from convincing at any point in that game. A win is a win but papers over the many cracks that a better team would've taken advantage of.

 

I enjoyed the second half the first have was a continuation from the Morecambe debacle, why can't we seem to be able to play as we did second half of the full 90 minutes, a wins a win, plus a clean sheet.

 

Social media is packed with Young being the next Ronaldo. Even better, I saw someone on FB state that Pattison needs benching… nowt as fickle as football fans

His first free kick went saling over the touchline, big improvement.

Just the silly standing in the way of the free kick Richards getting a yellow but apart from that he did well overall.

 

Really! Seriously! He was shite! Hardly touched the ball! Free kick was awful.

If you thought he had a great game when he came on then I can’t take you seriously!

 

With the exception of the overweighted free kick on the right

 

Not sure what to make of that today. 3 points always welcome but bar the odd flash of attacking intent from either side I was bored absolutely shitless. And by the end yet again we have no shape whatsoever, inviting a pretty woeful Crewe side to be the team with the attacking intent.
I'll have to stick this one in the 'we'll play a lot better than that and lose' folder.

 

Was he their number eleven? Very impressive and pretty much ran the midfield

 

Best ref performance by a mile si far this season.

 

Possibly the booking for Richards was a little harsh

 

To be fair, apart from the obligatory overhit free kick, Smallwood did very well when he came on.

Not really Dave, you will always get a booking now for preventing the opposition taking a quick free kick

 

Cook will definitely be out for a few games. He was in a lot of pain, looked like his hip, but obviously we couldn’t make any more subs. He was grimacing for about 10-15 mins trying to play through the pain barrier
