I read their manager describing that as the save of the game (which it was), their keeper won't even get credited for it now officially!

My question wasn't 'was it a corner', my questions was 'one hand or two'?

No idea how they missed it. The lineman on Midland Road was a garden gnome I think, purely there for ornamentation and to model 1990's wet look hair gel lol

 

I used to be pretty decent on the PlayStation to be fair so managed to hold him until he started playing 24 hours a day at about 12!

 

A wins a win but I'm far from convinced I actually believe there is a team in there but Hughes simply cannot see it

I've read this over and over but still not sure what you're saying... The "but" seems contradictory to me

 

There was some good attacking yesterday that’s for sure but I struggle to see the high pressing Hughes was claiming in his post match interview. We were pegged in our own half for most of the second half. Fortunately we didn’t concede or the mood would have been a bit darker on here

 

i like to wait a bit and reflect on the match, before i comment. There was some pleasing things, i like the look of Pattinson and Smith, the link between Oyekoe and Odour looks very promising, the latter could be a really good player on that showing, 1 game admittedly.
The defence centrally worries me a little, plenty of height, but very sluggish , thought Gillead was steady as the left wing back.
Our 2 stand out players from last season Lewis was not his usual self and cook looked off the pace to me.
Giving yesterday a 6 from 10, room for improvement and hopefully a couple of good loan players in before the window closes.

 

Team is still gelling, Park and some of those that came on such as Smith and McDonald aren't 100% yet. Hughes will be pleased at a win while he doesn't have his first choice team out.

 

Question is Bots.......Does Mark Hughes actually know his first choice team?

 

Just seen the Odour goal replay on club’s FB page. Lewis’ long ball, flicked on, cross then whipped over and was parried to Odour. Again, a long ball created the goal.

Passing it short cost us our goal. Just hoof the fecking thing and get Odour and Smith running in behind we will hurt teams with our new found pace.

 

Can't disagree with any of that Andy. Thought Oduor and Smith, when he came on, gave us the pace and threat of running in behind that we badly missed last year. Both, currently look good additions although it's very early days.

 

I think he had an idea but then realised Taylor is very slow, McDonald wasn't really fit and Oduor isn't a left wing back and now he's working it out again.

 

Not sure about the rest but I like the idea that Oduor said 'I want to play a more attacking role' and Hughes said 'Ok, let's see what you've got' and Oduor's performances are forcing MH to play him where he wants. That's kind of how it should be, I think.

 

Are you now finally sold on Oduor actually been pretty good?

Ive been impressed all 3 games.

 

There will come a point where 4 of Smallwood, McDonald, Pattison, Walker, Oduor, Chapman, Pointon and Smith start and the other 4 are on the bench. Thats very healthy competition.

 

I thought he was bright at Crawley but poor at Accy and very good on Saturday.

I've a feeling he'll be your typical, frustrating hit and miss winger but it's still only early days so I'm hoping we get more "Colchester" performances than "Accrington" ones but so far? Impressed.

 

The 'pegged in our own half' was completely our own doing for me Park.
We sat back (as usual) and allowed Colchester to come at us, very frustrating and so many calls by the fans of "out, out" could be heard.
Hell, we don't half invite trouble.
