Keeper error all day long though watch what Kelly does when the ball is intercepted-he runs away from the ball and then decides to try and tackle when its too late.

A very entertaining game. On that viewing we could become one of the L2 entertainers which would be remarkable from the cautious safety first dire approach of last season. Plenty of goals for and against would be good viewing but successful at the end I’m not sure. Smith and Pattison are a big improvement and good to watch and really lift the tempo. Hope McDonald can push his way into midfield. He could be a great addition. We are going to have to score plenty cos the no pace CB’s will be outdone frequently. At the moment I’m just glad I’m not watching last season’s slow deep drudge salvaged by Cook and Lewis.

What I like about the 3 at the back is that I hold hope we will see more of 2 up top. Smith was busy yesterday and it was a good effort that forced the save and parry for Odours equaliser. We didn’t see enough of this last season.

So maybe we have the majority of the players for the new system, it’s just about them getting used to it and also filling the remaining gaps eg LWB. I was also hopeful we might see Odusina more, but sadly for him he looks well out of favour.

The Saturday 5:30 kick offs in the premier League are supposed to give people time to get home after the 3pm kick offs to watch on TV so as not to impact home attendances for the rest of the pyramid. All this added time now means that's less likely and by the authorities own admission could now start to affect the numbers at games if they don't want to miss the start of the PL match.

Also I think we should consider 7.00pm kick offs for evening matches especially if it's a cup match that may involve extra time and pens ...

No thanks. Already a rush after work getting there for evening games. 7.30 perhaps?

Sorry Bots but I can't agree with this.

His mindset was to keep possession, which is fine but he had plenty of time to take a touch across his body, and clear it. He even had time to take the touch on his right and clear it if he'd have hurried. He just needed to have assessed the situation earlier and been more aware of what was around him. He clearly got caught in too minds and by then it was too late.

Let's put it in these terms, If Cook had that much time in and around the box to take a touch and shoot every time he'd be a very happy boy!

Correct and there lies the problem, its not the first time we've struggled with playing out from the back but we've got away with it yesterday cost us a goal and put unnecessary pressure on the defence.

That was my immediate thought at the time but couldn't be sure if it was a Brafdord or Colchester player who last touched it before Taylor

Liked the look of McDonald with his ability to read play in tight positions and keep possession with short accurate volleys. Not really seen that sort of skill before at this level.

Agree he looked off it and a gradual increase in game time seems to be a sensible approach. However his positional awareness stood out to me, seemed to be in the right place to break up attacks before they amounted to anything. Early days yet but hopefully once he's match fit we'll have an intelligent DM capable of breaking things up and with the ability to release some of the pace/goal threat we now have in Midfield/Uptop.

He dithered. Had ages to clear it even allowing for a touch. 100 % lewis howler

Yeah can't blame anyone else for that one, he had that much time he could have run the ball out of the area himself like me playing FIFA on the Xbox.

I thought the referee yesterday was an annoyance, but probably no more than that.

Little details like 'its my ball' and picking it up every break in play, marching out with it later than everybody else, only booking players for subtle fouls just to say 'I've spotted that, look at me!' while avoiding making a big deal of obvious fouls...

He was pedantic about every throw in, never let anyone take a quick free kick because he was usually rabbiting on at someone ... A real bore. Wouldn't want to share a pint with him, I suspect he'd have to tell you how great his breakfast was (jam on toast).

But he barely gets a mention for me because he didn't make any colossal errors, and didn't spoil the game.

He is another example of League Two quality though with glaring inconsistencies throughout.

Used to love playing my lad and beating the entire team with the keeper then spanking one in the top corner.

Tears and tantrums from a 4 year old and the controller went across the room a few times but it's the only way he would learn.

And then when they get to 8 or 9 they wipe the floor with you and strut tound the room like some sort of Ronaldo wannabe.
