Did you watch the Bury game? The lad was Messiesque.
I’m surprised the Saudis haven’t put a bid in. ;)

The extent to which added time is accrued will be problematic, and its probably less about the rules themselves being a joke, and more about the position referees are in. Look at last week's game. What was it, 10 yellows a red and bookings for each bench? In what was a fairly muted game. A ref who didn't understand how he was supposed to impose the new 'tougher stance'.

Didn’t see the game, but sounds like most enjoyed it and 3 points so happy Saturday all!

Saw Pattisons goal, can’t remember last time we had a midfielder like him shame we didn’t have him last season. If it was him or Williams I’m glad the Welshman stood us up.

In two matches we've played almost one extra half of football.

    9 + 8 (crawley) + 10 + 10 (colchester)

    It's a bit bonkers.

I haven’t seen a player step on the ball and fall over for quite a long time, so thanks to him for that. He’s useless apart from the comedy value.

Anyone else think that their goal was actually offside? Smallwood's tackle, off their player and deflected to Taylor who was offside?

It's all relative though. The level of Football Intelligence in League 2 would be ripped to shreds in the Premier League but then in League 2 they aren't playing against Premier League-level players so you get that extra leeway. Taking a few extra seconds to make the decision to step up into midfield or drop into defence matters less as the hesitation won't be taken advantage of as much and if you get it wrong it potentially is a little less critical because the opponent isn't seeing that mistake as clearly.

Pretty sure that doesn't matter, it deflects it straight to their player. Otherwise its an excellent tackle from Smallwood. Deflections are offside

Don't disagree with that, completely our own doing

Well done lads - showed good character after the defensive horror show for their opener. Was impressed by Pattison, Odour and Smith. Just wasn’t Cooky’s day but I like the new pace we’ve added going forward. We look a LWB and pacy CB short on today’s evidence but, overall, a good effort.

I think we also need another forward option. Cook needed taking off today, he looked absolutely knackered but we've no one to throw on and give him a breather.

Not a vintage performance by any means imo, but in Pattison we seem to have found something we lacked badly last season with another player apart from Cook hungry for goals. With our current squad I'm not convinced with the 3/5 at the back, despite many of fans complaints regarding last seasons default set up 451 I'd prefer us to continue with that and add our new additions to it and see how that goes.

Nope, with Oliver sidelined, who do we actually have now as back up?

Wonder if the lad linked at Palace could happen on loan…..

I'm going to stick my colours to the mast and say I like the 3 at the back... it gives us good options going forward, always have the switch ball out to the WB hugging the touchline, have the extra man at the back which is negating the press as we can pass round it (one particular error not relating to the system notwithstanding!). People banging on about the pace of the defenders but Kelly and Platt seemed plenty mobile enough to me to handle it - the times we get beaten down the channels will be more than compensated for by the additional opportunities afforded by the system going forward
