    @Bronco@Bronco you can’t put that on Hughes. Purely Lewis error, you can’t even blame a lack of a call (if there was one) as he had time and was facing the man enough to have dealt better.

    I keep banging the same drum but the 2 man central midfield doesn’t work when we want to be a possession team. Smallwood and Pattison are being overrun. If we want to stick with 3 CBs then we can do 352 and have 3 CMs.

    Normally yes, but in that instance Lewis is good enough to make a decision and get rid. Platt had the same a short moment ago when he made a good recovery tackle and had nothing on, so cleared - exactly what Lewis should have done.

    Fortunately Lewis has enough credit in his account not to be hung out for that, but it was his poor mistake.

    Normally yes, what's that supposed to mean, the same against Gillingham last season nearly cost us a goal until the Kop made their voices heard and we started going long, were not good enough to play out from the back.

    Or you just need the right CB's. If you have at least one who is capable of stepping up into midfield while having both the physicality and the intelligence to know when he needs to step up to make a midfield 3 and when to drop to make a back 3 then you would be fine

    By the way, if Hughes gets a red card it now means he has to go to the changing room and can’t watch the game. He will also be banned from interviews after the game if TNT are to be believed
