    Surely thats crawley town no?

waxing lyrical about getting into premier league and end up nearly relegated with the supporters board wanting the owners out.

I'm not. I don't fear any one of those teams.

As for no money, Ryan Sparks was quoted in the Yorkshire Post confirming we had the 2nd or 3rd biggest budget in the entire division last season. He also went on to say our turnover for the last campaign is northwards of £8.2 million. The most we have ever generated in League 2 and most likely in League 1.

Hardly strapped for cash and hardly lacking ambition.

Don’t post very often but I do read the threads.

Having read most of the threads over a few months I’ve noted fordy pretty much posts things that provide controversy the guy obviously craves attention and people bite giving what he craves, so much so it’ detracts away from actual fans posting and contributing as every thread becomes about this sad guy pretending he’s successful and somehow superiori to everyone else on here.

Obviously I’m not friends with the guy I doubt anyone is but this media seems to provide his pretend existence with the affirmation he craves like most sad gloits

it might as well be called fordytalk

    anyway good night

Nah I just tell it how it really is

If we wasn’t failing as a club so much they wouldn’t be anything to be be negative about.

I think what Fordy means here is that WE ARE THE BIGGEST CLUB in the EFL slumming it in the League 2. That's a fact. It does not mean that Wrexham, Notts County, Stockport, Gills et al are "bigger than us" because the clearly are not.

At the moment agree the table does not lie were all at ground zero on all counts but realistically we have been pathetically underperforming as a club for the best part of the last decade.

But we have allowed ourselves to get into this situation. Last season was a great opportunity to punch our way out of a really poor League. But we failed totally, through poor recruitment especially in the loan market. Coupled with having a group of players who were patently unable to handle the expectation at Valley Parade. This resulted in some frustrating home performances; leading too many draws and losing out to late late goals.

It has to be hoped that Sparky has introduced into this years squad some leadership and gile, coupled with the pace and instinct to see these teams off over 90 minutes. We cannot hang our hats on Andy Cook repeating last seasons goal scoring exploits either. Only us could end up with the Leagues No1 marksman and yet he still ends up anchored in League 2 despite all his efforts. He's not scoring 30 this time, so we will need contributions from all over the team.

League 2 this season promises to be even more competitive, with up to 10 clubs vying for a shot at League 1. As it stands were are probably one of the ten but in saying that we could easily end up being the one that finishes 10th.

    There you go Kev.

It's about 3/4 of the way down the article, but here is what Ryan is quoted as saying:

""Last year we had the second or third-highest budget in the division and we'll always be in and around that," says Sparks. "Anything we generate that is in any way a profit goes directly onto the grass."

    And in relation to turnover:

"Our turnover in this financial year will be north of £8.2m, the highest in the club's history in League Two or One – significantly higher. Last year's finances were something like 42 per cent higher in terms of operational turnover – non-football transfer revenue, basically."

That being the case our season finish is a bit of a disappointment.
I’d guess Salford and Stockport/Northampton having higher than us?
I’d add the Gills and Wrexham this year, possibly Forest Green too so we should still have a top 6 budget

Finishing top 6 wasn't a failure, but falling short in the play-offs was. Our league position was in and around where we should expect to be - albeit bottom end - given the budget. However, like I've said countless times on here, the biggest budgets do not guarantee you promotion. It aids player recruitment, but there is so much more to building a successful team. We made huge improvements last season and came close under Hughes' first genuine attempt.

I don't think Northampton would have had a higher budget, the other 2 perhaps. Definitely add Gillingham and Wrexham, but we should be within top 5 this coming season.

No need. You talk constant drivel, with no reference to reality. You are the one who looks silly, and the majority on here think you are a crank, a wummer and possibly even someone with too much time on their hands who doesn't even support Bradford city.

The reality is if we wanted to own our own ground and training ground we would need at least a £6million Commercial loan and would pay rates north of 10% on that. If you think Rupp would (or even should) put his hand in his pocket and spend his own money on buying an asset for a Ltd Company then you are deluded.

I'm starting to wonder if you are really Darren Slingsby.

This is a thread to discuss the club's status as a 'failing club'. The posts were transferred from the New Kit thread. Unfortunately it had deteriorated into an opportunity for some to trade personal insults. Hopefully we can keep this thread on track for the benefit of everybody without the need for further personal insults.

For those who want to continue trading insults, further posts which continue with personal insults will be removed from the thread along with the poster.

Here we go. Clubs which don’t own their own stadium.
Manchester City: ‘The City of Manchester Stadium has a capacity of 53,400 seats and can be expanded to 60,000 to accommodate other activities like music concerts and small events. The Manchester City Council owns the ground’.
Chelsea: ‘Chelsea is one of the most popular teams globally. But interestingly, they do not own the iconic Stamford bridge. Instead, it is owned by Chelsea Pitch Owners, a non-profit organization tasked with the upkeep and maintenance of the stadium’.
Newcastle United: ‘Newcastle City Council owns the Famous St James’s Park in Newcastle upon Tyne. It has a seating capacity of 52,305 seats and has been home to Newcastle United since 1892’.
Nottingham Forest: ‘The club has been operating on the ground since 1898. But it is owned by the Nottingham City Council’.
West Ham: ‘The London Stadium is owned by E20 Stadium LLP, a joint venture between the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and Newham Legacy Investments’.

In Europe, PSG: ‘Le Parc des Princes is an all-seater stadium located in Paris. It has a capacity of 47,929 seats and is owned by the Council of Paris’. Also which club own the San Siro?

when @Fordy117@Fordy117 bangs on about clubs owning their grounds feel free to copy and paste this list.
