Yep. But we don’t really step up. Either in terms of playing style or mentality. Its a bit of a lottery, but we’ll need to be bang at it for 3 games on the bounce now, each of which will be a pressure game. Have we done that all season…?

Decent game and they had probably two or three standout players across the park whereas out MOTM was our full back. They attacked at some pace and always looked like they could score if they wanted to.

If we do get promoted we do lack pace across the team. That's why we miss Wright so much.

Would like to see the Derbyshire incident again. Initial thoughts were that he milked it somewhat but others nearer said it was a penalty.

Now we need to break the Carlisle away stat and that should see us through to Wembley.

Carlisle like playing us and it’s like they local game for them. Ex Bradford players in their squad that will want to prove a point.

I’m confident we will beat them over 2 legs but it won’t be easy.

Rather play them than Stockport. Save them or Salford for the final.

One flaw in your comments, They could score if they wanted to…….So why didn’t they add to the one? Two decent saves by Lewis said they were certainly trying.
Honestly up front I didn’t see much of a threat. It ALL came from their 5 in the middle.

Ive said this before but the Chapman injury has given Hughes a dilema. We've tried to continue playing that same formation which does see us create more chances, but whether we've used Nevers, Eisa or Costello on the left, we've effectively played with 10.
Todays team was the pragmatic call. Not pretty but with Clayton in there we will always be hard to beat. It will come down to very fine margins but there is really nothing to fear.

Both fullbacks were excellent but Halliday shaded it for me

That was a turgid performance but a point was a good result. Halliday is the new Wayne Jacobs. I think we can beat Carlise over two legs. Our midfield engine is seriously lacking pace as shown in the last two games but we have enough steel about us that we might just sneak it in the playoffs.

Certainly the best team we have seen play at the VP this season. We had our moments, but they did as well, they looked a stronger outfit tbh. I thought we played really well at times and if there hadn’t been so much on the game enjoyable. I actually thought they settled for a point 20 minutes out.

Different mentality required for the playoffs, you just have to win the next game. I don’t care who we play, who knows we might just come up with our three best performances.

Halliday was outstanding today, and I was so pleased he scored deflected or not. He has been so consistent.

Agree. Dion hasn't worked out well this season. Nevers hasn't had the Wright impact. Not sure where Odasebe's best position is. Eisa isn't good enough unfortunately.

Costelloe was the mystery one for me. We needed to go for another wide type player not another central forward when we had Oliver and Derbyshire.

Job done. Wasn't pretty and you can see why they are the best team in the division. Exploited our statuesque midfield time and again and would probably have won at a canter had they something to play for. That said, we had good chances ourselves, weak finishing preventing a less nervy afternoon. Hughes has achieved the first objective, if we fail from here it's clear where our weaknesses lie. That midfield needs serious work on it wether we go up or not.

Chat on radio post game said the same. Apparently we were quite progressed towards signing him permanently before Argyle came in, which I wasn’t aware of.

I thought it was well known he'd pretty much agreed to sign but his agent got him a last minute move. Don't blame the lad though, nobody would have not taken that opportunity.
