The main frustration about the pyros last night was not so much the added time (and I agree with your point there) but how the delay in restarting the match allowed time for Crewe to reorganise and as a consequence all forward momentum we had gained was lost. Would this still have happened without the pyros, that we will never know.

    Is anyone praising the pyros?
If anything I don't blame the extra time added to the game, I blame the 5min where we have Crewe totally rattled and in those 5min the manager has the chance to calm them down with a sideline chat due to morons delaying the game and the adrenaline rush is over.

Totally agree @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler I thought the policing was complete overkill for what they actually did.

If you are going to police an event with 150 riot police in attendance then go do your job and sort the bother instead of standing around trying to look intimidating

Like it or not it's an age thing with these kids seeing the scenes from abroad and thinking they will add to the game and generate a better atmosphere by throwing pyro onto the pitch or letting them off amongst their own fans.
I don't know what the answer is apart from better stewarding outside before these clowns get into the stadium the stewards know the age group of these morons yet I've seen middle aged women asked to open their handbags and old men frisked before entering the stadium maybe they don't want any agro that stopping these morons entering the ground may cause.
Unfortunatly as some have said its becoming a normal experiance for the few and a worring part of supporting Bradford City away from home.

Not sure how it can be done but I'd start by making it as awkward as possible for them.

    1) away tickets to be sold to season ticket only
    2) no sale of under 18 tickets without the purchase of an adult ticket
    3) away team to enforce allocated seating

I don’t understand why these so called fans are not arrested? The club should issue a statement to effect that any person using fireworks will receive a lifetime ban no exceptions. This type of behaviour requires very firm handling by both the Police and the Club.

The BBC report on the La Rochelle v Exeter rugby game at the weekend described the fantastic atmosphere at the match, praising, among other elements, the widespread use of flares. The reporter thought these were great.

As I have said previously with the number of police there last night, they must have cameras on the section of the stand where all these pyros came from. Get their faces posted all over the local newspapers and even the Bradford City website. Make it as awkward as possible for them. When identified cancel their season tickets and have police turn them away if they attempt to attend an away game.

Dave, i was behind the goal last night, the set up at Crewe was really poor , the lads at the side of me had just climbed a small barrier and moved from the side stand, meaning some people had to find other seats, stewards did nothing.
Not sure how many turnstiles for the side stand, but only 1 for behind the goal and security checking middle age women's bags, no searches of young lads. Police were out in force, but were as effective as a chocolate firegaurd, stood on street corners looking menacing, but actually doing nothing.

As I said, it was the momentum shift from the 5min delay when we had them on the ropes.
The delay allowed them to compose themselves and regroup.
I don't blame the pyros for the additional time and falling on our face, there is something more deep routed there with the number of times it has happened this season.

I'm not sure I 'd go along with your third comment no way do I want to be sat amongst some of those morons, I prefer to get into the seating area in plenty of time and make sure I'm as far away from those guys as possible.

The collective lemming approach to the end of the match. All the players seem to lose their collective head at the end of the match. That is why leadership is so important on the pitch, if the captain panic’s then all the players follow. Sports psychologist required!

Worrying times ahead if that's the case and some are actually praising there use, nothing wrong with the atmosphere at Valley Parade (when the team perform) as we witnessed against Gillingham second half.

The curse of the last minute goal. Funny how out fans weren't complaining about the time added.on in the Northampton game. The last three games have had crazy finishes and to be fair we haven't played that well in any of them. Take Cooky out of this team and we'd be mid table mediocrity, even if we do go up that team needs some serious work on it in terms of recruitment.

As always it goes as follows:

This forum - almost everyone is against these idiots.

Facebook - many against the behaviour and flares but also many idiots condoning it because it “intimidates the other fans and adds to the atmosphere”

Twitter - absolute idiots thinking it’s amazing

There was a drone hovering around for much of the match, certainly seemed to be there most of the first half (don't know how long the batteries last!). It was pretty high so from our angle we weren't sure if it was directly over the pitch or not

The ones last night looked like they omitted a flame from where I was sitting behind the goal, this photo from someone who was blogging in the side stand appear to show there is definitely more than smoke being emitted, it looks like a flame. Screenshot_20230504_083514_YouTube.jpg
