Communication from club was poor,should have nipped this in the bud on Wednesday morning. However we can’t blame City for not completing the deal on time.
Apparently it was the championship player that we were chasing and the selling club changed their mind and deal was off. Then late on they gave the go ahead but too late, City tried to rush it through but ran out of time. They should then have announced deal was too late but let the media continue to speculate that there was still a chance.

 

We had a month to sort all our transfers .....all smoke and mirrors again on deadline day !!

 

You don't have a month though. Very often we would be waiting on the selling club who will want to bring in a replacement first and the club they are buying from are also likely to be waiting on a replacement coming in and so on, and so on.

It's amazing how many people think it's as easy as nipping into next, selecting the best pair of jeans you can afford and taking your cash to the till!

 

I bet said player will rock up in the summer and it will be like Derbyshire all over again. 'We tried to get him in January but for one reason or another, it wasn't possible so we're delighted to finally get it over the line'.

 

Lee Gregory was the rumored name I heard mentioned before the game when having a beer and then in the seats around mine. No idea if it was a twitter rumour during deadline day or anything like that which people were clinging onto.

 

Why didn't Hughes say that he wasn't expecting it to go through the day after the deadline instead of telling the fans yesterday , was it some kind of let's get more bums on seats yesterday hoping for some pitch side reveal. That's why I said led the fans on but that's my opinion not yours obviously.

 

By the sounds of it the EFL haven’t made a formal decision on it yet but he is expecting a no due to precedent.

i do agree though i would have rather it been said in the first place it was unlikely. Poor comms from the club.

Good anology . That’s why the housing sales market is falling off a cliff. Someone in the chain finds that Trussonomics has fecked up their chances of buying a home, so the whole chain collapses.

So many people nowadays believe nothing they hear from the horses mouth but believe everything on twitter or Facebook. Its maddening!
