I'm not sure we'll beat France, but if we do I'll be very impressed.

Feels close to a 50-50 for me, maybe slightly favouring France.

Awful is too strong a word, however he’s attempting things beyond his skill set, since Crichlows absence. Long range passing isn’t his forte as Maguire showed in the early stages last night?

Im not sure either! The beauty of the game next weekend is neither are they!

They won’t be as confident as we think because of our quirky unpredictability.

I’m giving us a win IF we can stifle Mbappe with Walker.

Good pitch, good crowd, good stadium, but one up front at home. 15 thousand fans bored to death, if you don't have a go you won't score as they say. Let's hope the penny might drop soon and we start having a right go.

England didn't need more than 1 up front to put 6 past Iran.

    I feel we're making excuses.

Iran ….versus Kane, Sterling, Saka, Bellingham…….What are we doing wrong? ……Oh.

Iran ……versus Cook, Wright , Banks and Gilly

Thanks not an excuse ..that’s fact.

We have to be reasonable Jon. Cook isn’t a mobile Kane , no matter how many goals he’s scored.

I don't get what you mean.

It's not the system that's the problem.

I have to say we seem to be shooting ourselves in the foot with the way we play. Hughes appears to have great faith in the quality within the squad but recent results have neither lived up to his optimism of better to come or the stalling expectations of supporters. Can't decide whether it's the Manager, system, individuals or just a lack of belief in the game plan. We do need extra quality through the spine of the team I think, but in the meantime it must be worth Mark tinkering with a more flexible setup which would allow players to feel confident in expressing their skills in positions and movement that makes them more comfortable and helps regain their composure and confidence. Surely the next two games can allow a change of direction.

I agree, it was like a different team, then later in the game they reverted back and it got boring and unproductive again.
    Lesson to be learned

Key member in that set up is Bellingham. Exactly the kind of box to box, all over the park player we’re missing.

It is for us, that’s the point. We don’t have the personnel to be an effective 4231 against a fluid 433 who have players with the ability to play it?

Orient and Northampton have just shown us that Jon?

I totally get your point, where would he fit in a side playing 4231?

We lost those games, but I don't think we need to overhaul the system - we just know what our weaknesses are and who doesn't really suit us.

    Let's stick with it.

Hopefully Gent has identified superior targets for January.

We all know the weakness we have in the system, I’m not suggesting it’s a bad system with the right players. Mobility and pace is the key and it’s absent on occasions.

He’d be part of the 2 but we’d have to cover his runs.

Cook's not as good as Kane? He controlled a ball back in August don't you know. What slander.
