    I'm not into the prediction leagues either but many are and it Brings an extra dimension to the forum

    In my opinion the sooner they are moved into there own dedicated section the better but I also understand the reason and its only temporary so hopefully not too long before we can shift them all

    The white themes a bit of fun and if your not interested in the prediction leagues there's no reason why it should bother you

    @SimonW@SimonW will move them out as soon as the automation is working properly

    the white background is on ALL World Cup threads.

    the automation has been tested since start of the season, so three months so far.

    Yeah it looks a mess and is becoming increasingly irritating seeing all the prediction threads spammed on City Talk. Even the City prediction league threads make it look messy.

    If the Dion Perreira thread is the last one showing by moving the prediction threads to their own section then so be it, it means they'll be easier to find actual City Talk threads rather than weaving in and out of prediction threads.

    Suggestion:

    If the Prediction League is time consuming as Simon suggests and requires time and effort, then it may be worth either:

    A) Scrapping it;
    B) Making it pay to play - say £5 or £10 for the season. To cover some of Simon's dedicated time, whilst also making it people's own prerogative to ensure they enter on time.

    I wouldn't mind the thread for game 5, Argentina v Saudi Arabia, putting in an appearance soon. It kicks off at 10 am tomorrow morning and I will be busy then.

    This is becoming ridiculous now the first 7 threads on City Talk are World Cup prediction leagues.

    Makes it look a right mess, they need their own temporary folder out of City Talk

    It is ok though as it drives traffic, from the dozen or so players, and is only temporary, almost 40 games, whilst the automation is tested

    Thats what I'd prefer but according to the stats it bumps up site traffic massively that it wouldn't in its own section

    I've asked they no longer go in city talk after today or we will move them manually

    General football section is a compromise for now

    just can not see how much traffic the wc one brings in when only about 20 people took part in the England game and some games around a dozen. At the moment I click on every thread and then put it on ignore, so if others are doing that then that will be increasing the views. Not sure how the amount of traffic is worked out but wouldn’t think anyone is coming just for the prediction league

    The prediction threads do bring in more search engine traffic than any other thread being posted, I suspect because the initial post is much more search engine friendly than what most people post when creating a thread. When people have landed there though previously they were going up a level, just seeing old prediction threads and left. This season the City ones have been getting traffic in and they are going up a level and visiting other threads, average time on forum for those landing on the prediction threads is up from 1.42 before to 18.32 which is a massive increase which means more ad viewing and more chance of them registering.
