Perhaps that's something to do with the 74 page bollocks they wanted people to read before completing it. Either way, 3k is a pretty poor return out of how many members? Market research companies are normally looking for a 60% response rate to make any sound analysis.

In my family there are 5 season ticket holders. I am the most serious City fan. My wife and 3 kids aren’t going to look at the 78 page PDF or fill in the survey in a month of Sundays.

 

Problem is, that design is going to have the same issues as the badge they are wanting to withdraw.

 

This is Ryan's legacy we're talking about.

He and the commercial team need something solid on their CV's that isn't just "hired Mark Hughes, crossed our fingers" lol

Appreciate the sentiments for a rebrand. Commercial, digital and marketing benefits. Weve heard Sparks bemoan how the current crest makes things difficult.

Football fans are tribal though, they hate change. It should have been evolution over revolution. They could have kept the current badge but made some tweaks to bring it in line with the modern era.

The 78 page document is ridicilous. Far too thorough and simply someone trying to justify their fee with marketing spiel and gobbly gook. Completely lost on 99% of our supporters. That said if Dave from Queensbury did the rebrand then folk would be saying we are cutting corners and doing an important project on the cheap....

The escence should stay the same but it definately needs updating IMO.

 

I think this is intended to be more evolution and not revolution. Hence the retention of the crest, the star, the Bantam, est. 1903 etc. It respects the heritage of the current badge.

I know we can't be stuck in our ways, but my initial reaction to the redesign was, WTF! But then once I had put my nostalgia for it to one side and recognised the need to have a forward thinking club across all elements of the business I calmed. I became easy with this change.

It could do with some improvement - like the more aggressive Bantam from Silvers design - but it works as a brand and can be easily adopted across all froms of media and kit design more effortlessly and effectively. It's a step in the right direction for me.

 

I do not mind a change if it is better than the existing one, The trouble is that it isn't, It is significantly worse and has become a joke even before been used.
If a change has to be made the club could have organized a competition from supporters with designs been submitted and a vote off to finally get the most popular, Instead the club has spent time and money doing the opposite and trying to persuade the fans that a poor design is something special. Poor do Mr Sparks

We need to get this right, because as Paul Weller said "What chance have you got against a tie and a crest" !!

 

I created a mockup last year of how i'd like to see City's new logo. It was heavily influenced by the revised Bristol City logo, nice and clean. Obviously i've not added the star on mine, but it was only an initial design. I'm massively biased, but I much prefer it to the actual new City logo
