Glad it's been a good season for you (been watching on you tube) fingers crossed for a drop of rain before the 15th and the seals keep away
Determined to have a go for the Pike this winter will try some Mackerel never fished for them before so hoping for a few bright sunny winter weekends

Cheers, I’ve a fair few other bits of video that’ll give me some stuff to do over winter!

the pike though, mackerel is a great bait and stays on the hooks well, but my go to bait would probably be sardine. Best of luck if you have a go for them.

she’s funny. Hates going in my van generally (plus she’s definitely the mrs’ dog), but loves the fishing. She sits in the heather, watching intently. Quite often she will swim out to try to intercept the trout / have a nosey. I don’t always take her, not to rivers usually, especially when in spate for obvious reasons - she’s a hill loch dog.

livebait - banned up here. It definitely works though, very well. Tbh, in winter, just catching a livey up here would be tough enough

Bought this lot on ebay today for £50. Absolute bargain. There's over £50 in the flies alone.

Managed a few casts round lunchtime today, massive spate, almost too much water tbh. Still, I winkled out a wee c0ck salmon, in it’s Autumn finery. Tremendous scrap in the conditions, went back really strongly. Two salmon/grilse in about 3.5 hrs fishing since saturday evening, late season going well.

    Time of year for them
Did you not fancy having a go for it ??
Been promising myself a go for some in the local canal but somehow lack enthusiasm
Ghostie would have been watching you from a "safe" distance
My guess should it make an appearance will be mid summer on floating crust
