Think you might have read my last piece wrong, i didn't mean we had an agreement in which we are used by Gibb..... I meant any future agreement with Gibb, he will want something based on what he's been used to, ie £500K+ a season on a new lease because of his business knack and knows we've paid it before, nothing stopping him ask again or to offer us reduced terms, because it's not great business. As you say, he's a very astute business man.

Seemingly these teams with new grounds or developments, either have a well off owner or have the council pay it, then the clubs arrange buy back leases, where they pay it back over a long long time but it's much cheaper than rental agreements. Like before, Stockport have bought their ground for £2m over a 250 year agreement. Rotherham sold their old one, owners backed another chunk then loaned £5M off the council, which they paid very early. Brentfords was a mix of many investors and loans. Looking over the recent moves for lower league sides in terms of stadium purchases or moving, it looks like the ones that move, have a stadium to sell to the councils to help fund. The ones that dont own their grounds either have to buy it at an enlarged fee for what it is, or move with outside investment. The easiest outcome is Rupp buys VP, but if after 6 years he hasn't kicked those talks off, begs the question if he ever will? Or is he hoping he gets a good offer and lets a new guy deal with any stadium question?

Spot on offy. Buying has to be the first priority. Even if we had to may £10 million it would a single digit fraction of the cost of building a new ground. Why move ? This argument has been done to death. The available sites in Bradford are virtually nil unless we move out of town, which would be a disaster for the local economy.

We don't need a new ground, we just need to find a way to pay less for VP, which in my view isn't a tired old ground at all.

We don't need to own our training facility because it's top notch and we pay peanuts for it. Were you playing truant on the day they did maths ?

Is your car leased/ on a PCP ? Do you lease the land your eastern european slaves polish tin on ? Have you got a mortgage on your house. If the answer to these is yes, you own nothing.

The area it is in means absolutely nothing. Try improve the area by moving and you vastly increase the cost of land because you are competing with residential developers.

I have no truck with Manningham at all. It's our home, and the only people you see complaining about where it is are Bulls fans, who have this stupid air of superiority and think we should give it all up and pay towards a redeveloped shite hole in BD6

I believe two of the grounds you've quoted are owned by the guys who own the football club Mark Stott at Stockport also a Stockport fan and Tony Stewart at Rotherham very much a Rotherham fan, such a shame Mark Lawn was not in the same league financially.
As we both agree if Gordon Gibb was prepared to listen to offers Stefan would be the best option IMO and rent it back at a reduced rent, if Stefan wants to sell he owns both the club and the Valley Parade stadium, win win for Stefan.

Just the one problem could Stefan persuade Gordon Gibb/Pension fund to sell, it would be a fantastic deal 25 years of past rents, then maybe a deal for £xxx million for the stadium paid over a period of time rather than a one off payment.

At Apperley Bridge the Stansfield Arms was adjacent to the playing field where Bradford FC came to prominence before the move to Park Avenue in 1880. (The same venue was also significant in the history of association football in Bradford.)

It has more football history than you think

Dave I am surprised a ‘Die hard’ supporter like yourself hasn’t read that and lots more. Covered in tremendous detail here:
