Angol made a much needed difference.
Seemed to miss the ball holding up too until he came on, and Oliver continued to improve that.

Foulds was defensively very good also.

Outside that it was a bit laboured and we made hard work of it. But what was clear, as Morais said on the commentary, is that we were the better side but did not dominate as much as we should (and should be).

Quality showed and a great ball from Angol and class finish from Wright saved us.

Is there a bit of arrogance when we start going ahead? Should have kicked on much better after going 1-0 up.

Lewis by the way - what a delight it is having a keeper like him. Class.

Hate the passing round the back only for us to either lump it and it comes back or were caught in possession ... I really dont get it

We have the quality to score plenty of goals just the tactics which are unconvincing

And no matter about opinions and statistics and formation and tactics that's the only thing that matters.

Most scary and frustrating part of every game. Haven't been punished yet but feel a good/fast side will take advantage of this type of play.

And that's becoming a problem Hughes must address losing early goals second half, Tranmere, Wimbledon, Walsall & Harrogate or not seeing the game out at Colchester & Barrow.

Thankfully he seems to with his subs, Harrogate, Wimbledon and Tranmere the subs have all made the difference. But yes those on the pitch need to keep up the intensity.

I agree. Let's hope if we get to the later rounds of the FA Cup, then we avoid Manchester City - as I can't think of any such 'quality' teams in this division. And it's actually great for if we play a fast attacking team - gives us far more opportunities to break!!

I think some need to wake up and smell the roses. As we've seen with numerous teams in the L2 promotion race, during the past few seasons, they are rarely extra special in quality and often we've then had comments on these boards about how 'lucky' they are (i.e. Forest Green last season).

Indeed, there's only been Exeter, virtually every time we played them, Cheltenham in the season they didn't go up and Plymouth in the season we did go up (we actually bet them) where I though 'wow they've very very good'.

L2's about rolling up your sleeves, playing scinitllating footie for around 25% of the match and doing your defensive job very well for the other 75%.

The Harrogate press said that's the best they have played all season, I believe Wimbledon said the same last week.

This is going to happen a lot this season with teams raising their game against us. Hopefully the quality of our large squad can consistently overcome this and see us through

I'm puzzled what Hughes is supposed to do. It is inevitable that in a match where we dominated most of the first half that any opposition manager of a decent pedigree, is going to motivate his team to 'have a right go' at the start of the 2nd half.

The same would happen to an, albeit average, Championship club if they had a slender lead in say the FA Cup. The home 'lesser' team, would throw the kitchen sink at them and might score.

What tends to happen is these teams run themselves into the ground which is why, in the main, we've had good last 20 minute spells.

I was worried about this a couple of games ago, but then realised that if teams are throwing long balls into our area - there's not much you can but defend well and realise that they can't keep that up for longer than 30 minutes.

Great article from Jason at WOAP (I often disagree with him) who reminded us that actually very few of our promotion winning season matches, were us dominating all the time.

Understandably, we're all nervous. It's been six seasons since we've been involved at the top end of the table, for any sustained period!!

How many times have we played well over the seasons and finished with nothing.
Play poorly and still win away from home. Good enough for me, we don't have to play like Real Madrid.

The scores from teams around us in the league table generally seem to be going our way.

They may all change of course.

I'd argue that last season in both matches, certainly the away fixture, we dominated just as much and of course lost both matches

The only thing I can think of is it takes two or three opposing players out the equation when it's eventually hoofed up, so opening up midfield a bit
