It makes little difference to me mate, but I can see where others are coming from, if we go with the Dolly boys we'll be setting off at 8am for a 1pm kick off at bloody Rochdale, ale carts you know who you are .

Unlike Fordy, myself after the game (finishing just before 3pm) I will be using the pub's heating and lighting, wherever that might be. I will just be getting there a couple of hours earlier. This will probably be offset by not going for a couple of beers before the game.
Although I would prefer a 3 o'clock kick-off in the grand scheme of things 1pm or 3pm doesn't really matter to me as long as Darren Drysdale isn't the referee.

I think pubs cafes will lose out , a lot of people will just go home afterwards and not bother before because it is too early .

 

You must need your bleeding head testing. In one of the most financially challenging times in a generation, you are suggesting hard up fans have to stump up even more money to support a business that employs several staff on lucrative salaries and owned by a chap reportedly worth £100m+

Obviously I don’t go to games, so me voting no is for purely selfish reasons. We’ve got a +2 time difference over here. That means on Saturday I can commit to any of my wife or kids wishes during the day, and still get to watch the match in the evening. My family are conditioned to the fact that we’re all home (or at least I am) by 5pm. Kicking off at 1pm, 3pm my time, is going to deny my family from spending time with me!

On a serious note, I agree with a lot of the others. Surely the floodlights will need to be on at some stage anyway? Also think plenty of pubs and cafes will miss out. People will be brunching before the game at home. Maybe go out afterwards, but 3pm boozing is that weird limbo time when it’s too early to stay out all night. Feel sorry for those travelling distances to get to the game too.

Personally I don’t think it’ll happen. Lots of stuff behind the scenes too - staff and police will all have to agree to the changes.
