That's not the point it is cause and effect. He supports attacking play better when he plays pushing the team forward and the attack further up the pitch.

 

I wouldnt be surprised if in Jan we see most the likes of Angol, Sutton, Hendrie one of Foulds and Ridehalgh all go out either perm or on loan. Angol is now like 4th choice up front or on the left. Sutton looks comfortably the least needed CM. Left full back still needs upgrading but it might have to wait until one wants out.

Then guys like Young, he signed a 3 year deal but again is probably 3rd or 4th choice at best for up front or on the left, so may well see if we can send him on loan to get games. I know they "you can make more subs now" think gets thrown around, but having 20 minutes once a week wont please all pros.

 

Assists and goals to support your point that “Sutton unlocks defences” that’s all I asked.Now he
“ supports” . Now that you haven’t supplied any data to substantiate what am I or anyone else supposed to think? Other than ignore facts because they are somehow irrelevant

To put you out of your misery

This season 5 appearances for 135 minutes….Zero goals, Zero assists
Last season 38 appearances 2 goals….No evidence I spotted that proves an assist.

Let’s be sensible when making statements like “ Sutton unlocks defences” He doesn’t!

 

I would love that to be the case but why have we recruited two wingers if he’s going to be fit soon. I honestly believe we may struggle to see him again? Let’s hope I’m wrong.

 

Oh Tony get it right… it’s Sundays , that’s their double time day! If they all refused to do overtime there would never be a train on a Sunday except those driven by managers.

 

Sutton has been poor for a year now. Those box to box runs he’d make have slowly gone out of his game

 

It’s looking very much like he’s getting to be surplus to requirements looking at the squad. He may do well going out on loan to get game time ?
I would be happy for him to remain on the basis he isn’t going to get serious game time unless there is a glut of injuries?

Not sure about everyone writing Angol off. I get that he's not at his best on the left and we have better options there. I also understand he's not the most natural goalscorer we have. But he is by far and away the best we have at holding the ball up and bringing others into play.

It doesn't look like Oliver has that in his locker and I don't think its Cooks strength. The other options are a little lightweight.

With the other strikers or attacking midfielders we have looking like they have goals in them, I think Angols ability is something we would really miss should he move on.

 

Hey up Kev. Now you seem to have come round to my thinking that Halliday isn't any better than Hendrie we can find something else to discuss. Even after our flurry of transfer activity we still have very few options in CM. Sutton might not start many games but I think MH quite likes him and he will get plenty of game time at CM....unless we sign another before the deadline

 

From what I've seen hopefully keep harrett for season and send oliver out on loan. Wont happen though

Don’t see why people are writing Oliver off. We’re 6 games into the season an in non of them games has he received any service. He’s also clearly low on confidence as a result of this

OK. Just for balance Gillead usually is first choice over Sutton in that position. How many has he scored or made over 2 years with many more appearances. Should not take long

 

For me Harratt is a decent player but doesn’t fit our style of play he will probably go back in January
