Clearly, didn't work. Needs to be more hard hitting. Like Liverpool's.

Yes I agree with this to a degree. All I’ll add is you’ve left out arguably a bigger element of why what they did was wrong and that was the fact they chucked it from a height. This imo is worth of police prostitution, would I be saying the same had they not chucked it? No I wouldn’t, I respect what happened at VP and how that makes us unique to these kind of shows, but the bigger issue for me was using it as a missile. I am a believer in second chances and education, but it should be the police not club who do that as if it had hit someone on the head who knows what may have been the outcome.

The club may have to start thinking about more targeted searches.

I know, for example, that at clubs in Spain where there are very clearly defined "ultras" sections those going into those sections are checked far more stringently than the cursory check done elsewhere in the ground. Maybe we need to consider likewise for the Kop Upper?

I've also seen people complaining that no stewards went to the area the pyro was thrown from afterwards - what would have been the point? The numpties there would have closed ranks, probably started giving the steward a load of grief and started one of their witty "£2 an hour" chants.

Football crowds have to be self-policing when someone steps out of line like they have here.

Chances are it was thrown by an under 18 year old - idiotic, dangerous and rightly condemned by all, but a lifetime ban? Are you seriously saying that a young lad that's done something really stupid should never be allowed to set foot in Valley Parade again? A 3 to 5 year ban is what I'd like to see and if the lad behaves himself in that time and shows some remorse for his behaviour then that should be the end of it. You can't demonise someone for the rest of their lives because of one ridiculously stupid mistake they made as a teenager.

If one of his mates has the bottle to name him give this number a ring 01274 773355 (ext. 223) I wouldn't think the club would ask for details with regards the caller divulging personally information.

Ban them for a few seasons. Stupid idea to lob a smoke bomb into the lower kop area.

    Yeah, life ban!

Look, far too many parents with teenagers are letting the kids in Bradford just do as they please. The parents and their kids need to be taught a lesson.

None of this they are only kids rubbish. Teach your kid/kids how to behave.

Police record and lifetime ban from Bradford City. The club will be getting fined because of this idiot and someone got injured.

Bradford City need to up their game in this department and deserve what is coming to them.

This is what's wrong with the parents of Bradford today. I did this and that when I was younger blah blah.

No, teach your kids to be better than you!

I'm disappointed that this statement has been up for 90 minutes without being flagged up by anyone! I know that the police are always wanting to get better pay but this is not the way to go about it.

I’m with Fordy on this one due to the nature of the incident. If they’d just lit a flare, I’d say a ban for a couple of years but the fact they threw it from the top tier and it injured someone I’d say warrants the lifetime ban and the police involvement-it also would hopefully send a message to other young idiots, others around would learn a degree of right from wrong if they’re mate can’t some anymore

I took my granddaughter to the game on Saturday and when the flare went off she asked what is and I explained. The smoke drifted and could be smelt in the Main Stand and she was worried, but I just explained it had drifted across the pitch.

She shouldn’t have to be concerned about smoke at a football match, particularly after we had stopped to look at the memorial before kick off.

Let’s hope that’s the first and last time this happens by our supporters at Valley Parade or anywhere else for that matter.

This is true and my thoughts are we have to still teach them plus their parents a lesson.

Same debate as to whether it is Common Assault or Battery. Whichever when it hit someone, it is an offence.

It is whether the police can be presented with enough evidence to charge the individual.

The issue is that it is an offence to hurl an incendiary whether it hits someone or not.

The psychological trauma the little child will have experienced, needs to be taken into account.

If you sit in the bottom tier of the Kop, do you always have the fear that some missile could hit you on the head!

It is against the rules that the club has in place, and the individual should face the full consequences of their behaviour.

Just think what would have happened if it had actually hit a player!

Just answer the simple question if you can. Have you ever done something you later regretted. Not blaming your parents of course. :innocent:

course he’s done something wrong we all have but in my whole life I’ve never thrown a dangerous object at a load of innocent folk sitting enjoying themselves .............. that prick could have caused some serious damage and left a child with potentially physical and mental scars ............... but hey let’s give a little slap on the wrists only for another scrote to go and do the same trick ............... I mean a fooking smoke bomb at a league 2 game ffs embarrassing
