I’m ashamed to say I’m not a reader.I only read on holiday and I probably only read 4 or 5 books a year (Mrs bbb reads at least 1,sometimes 2 or 3 books a week)
I tend to go for the usual easy reading formulaic stuff of Grisham,Patterson,Baldacci.etc.

I just don’t have the patience.

 

I'm fairly sure he's not too fussed about the pretty pictures.

We did Magritte yesterday. Today it was through the same doors but turned left instead and took in the Dutch masters, apparently.

It looks very much like the Magritte painting “God is no saint” (1935-36) which turned out to be covering up the final part of one his most famous works “ The Enchanted Pose” (1927) which he cut in to 4 pieces and painted over.
Ironically, even though experts had been searching for the missing painting since the 30’s, the 4th piece was found under a painting already in the Magritte museum.

I think Magritte famously said “My paintings are visible images which conceal nothing;they evoke mystery.It does not mean anything,because mystery means nothing,it is unknowable”

 

my interpretation - and we know what that’s worth - is once people have finally gone, only nature, skye and earth (or maybe a beach in Forres by the looks of it) will remain, but it’ll probably be a bird that removes the final bit of human detritus, that remains, before the earth can be totally free.
