New season, new drinks? Maybe. Starting with a wine today, though -- making a bourride for dinner, and a local Sauvignon Blanc will be in it and with it.

Been drinking only local wines since the pandemic started, and given their quality, see no reason to change now!

Here's to successful new season! Cheers!

I'm on the Strongbow Cider. That's not changed for over 40 years!

Well because I've started driving to most matches, matchday drinks are post-match for me.

Currently I'm sampling a nice pale ale from Dig Brew (Digbeth, Birmingham) called Die Bjorn Die 5.2%.

This will be followed by a couple of St Austell (Cornwall) Proper Job IPAs 5.5%.

I’ve been looking after the baby since kick off until now, cos the Mrs was out.
She brought me this back. Local lager. Upside down can cos it’s unfiltered and encouraging you to invert before drinking.

Mmmmm, A. LeCoq. My (and various of my relatives') preference from the larger-scale Esto. breweries. Pity it's never been brought in over here; only Saku makes the odd appearance, along with, now, some Põhjala. That must be a new variant? The Alexander I've had always came in normal tins.

Yep it’s their unfiltered lager. Pretty nice for a commodity beer at 1,30€ a can.

Have a Wikipedia read about Albert Le Coq. Quite a character! :)

Been trying out some more of the province's craft breweries. This one's from Kitchener -- no wonder that they do a Helles, then!

They also have a nice session (golden) ale, and several other styles I've yet to try. If we are going to make a habit of yesterday, one will need them all!

My first armchair match of the season, so its matchtime drinks this evening. Tonight's beers come from Cornwall, Norway and the Ukraine.
1st half - St Austell (Cornwall) Proper Job IPA 5.5%
2nd half - Varvar (Kyiv) Ukrainian Golden Ale 6.1%
Extra time / post match - Amundsen (Oslo) Instant Swagger NEIPA 6.0%

It was going to be Modelo Especial, but I think I shall upgrade to this (Henderson Brewing Co.):

You should try Leffe triple, with the golden top.
Leffe blonde and brune are rubbish and just labels, not breweries.
I'm quite sure that Leffe tripel is brewed somewhere else.
    I have many other beers off-camera .
BTW, there was some Greene King Abbott hiding behind some of the others, as well as Schlenkerle Rauchbier. Smoked dark beer from Bamberg.

You keep your Greene King Abbott to yourself. There's a reason why it's a stock beer in Spoons.
