Totally agree Onside similar happening at Cougar Park main stand in shocking condition. Fortunately Cougars are undefeated this season an look like going up. Hopefully City will move on up.

They will have a better ground and a better team than the Bulls, it could be argued they have already.

Its about time Keighley had a decent professional sports team, given the size of the town.
Hopefully they'll kick on and challenge for promotion to super league next season.

Like you say, they could be flying the flag for the Bradford area the way Bulls are going.

They should have been in the Super League years ago, after winning the division below. But Caisley blocked their entry.

Been some massive up and downs for Keighley over the years . It was great to see Mick O'Neil back in 2019 the club now are really moving on up.
Do any of the old skool remember Mick back in the days a DJ at the Heartbeat Bradford.
In 2021 Mick was awarded the MBE for services to Rugby League and the Community in Keighley. Oh Yes our rivals are The Cattle.

My memory is bad but i thought the rfl blocked Keighleys promotion by switching to franchise model rather than promotion and relaxation

Bullmania started and the rest is history

Caisley effectively blocked Keighley's legitimate promotion to SL and in doing so put the wheels in motion that saw the decline of the Cougars.
I sincerely hope that the SL and the RFL see the potential there is in a succesful Cougars. More so than some club in Canada or Cornwall.
They've a tremendous set of loyal fans and a decent catchment area to tap into.

Yes they did. But, as I remember it, Cougars won the next division and should have been promoted and included in the new arrangements rather than the team who should have been relegated. I think Bullmania was already in full swing at this point.

Used to go watch the Cougars many year ago, great to see they're 16 wins from 16 this season.

Surely a promotion to the Championship is inevitable now. With that, they'll need some decent investment to not only stay up but to be competitive.

I went to my first game yesterday out of curiosity.

I quite liked the ground... it seemed to have an old school charm to it.
Crowd was decent at over 2k. Good family atmosphere.
My only worry is the pitch seems to be on a slope.
I guess this might be a barrier if they have Super League aspirations, although i'm no expert.

They are as good as promoted now, so hopefully they'll carry the momentum into next season...

I'm sure the powers that be will find a way of excluding them from the top tier, like they did last time.

I believe there will be no changes in the league structures 2022 and 2023 . Clarity is needed for all clubs. As my mate Bob Dylan said the times they are changin maybe the answer is blowing in the wind.

They were knocked out of the championship last time because they moved the goalposts halfway through the season and Batley stayed up following a win scored by an ineligible player, so never underestimate the amateurish RFL.
