Wifi at VP

    Given we’ve moved into a digital age and STs are using an app and we’re selling e-tickets, coupled with the fact we’ve just signed a new partnership with broadband provider Brsk, has the time come for us to get free wifi in the ground for fans?

    It’s currently a painful experience trying to get 4G data on your phone at VP using Voda or 02 (I’ve not tried other networks but presume they are the same, especially at HT), so this is one thing the club could do to enhance the matchday experience.

    That said, having running water in the toilets top tier of Sunwin would do for a start, so maybe wifi is a bit optimistic!

    Add Sky to the list of providers where no signal is possible. Nothing against Donny, precious little last season when there were obviously less in the ground.

    I seem to be absolutely fine on Vodafone in the Midland road. I only check BBC for the half times so aren't on it long but also get WhatsApp messages coming through no problem.

    Same here on Giff Gaff just stood in the stand upper kop at half time and no signal-sometimes cannot even make a phone call.

    A basic question, that I really should know the answer to, but, I'm not sure so I'll ask.

    I have an e-season ticket.
    If I take a screen-shot of the bar code thingy on my e-season ticket.
    Then show the screen-shot of my season ticket bar-code thingy at the turnstile, will that allow entry ?

    You should already have received an email from the club which incorporates your specific QR code and will do exactly as you suggest.

    Alternatively you could download the club app, input your details (membership no etc) and your QR code should be downloaded as if by magic. I was sceptical about it but it worked perfectly for the Donny game.

    It should do. I do the same for all e-tickets (flight tickets, concerts, cinema etc) just in case I can't get access to the internet. Never had a problem using a screenshot. During covid times, I took a screen shot of my vaccination QR and saved that as my phone lock wallpaper. Saved me scrabbling around on my email everytime I had to show the pass.

    I used to be with EE, best coverage by some distance. I was the only one on a campsite in Windermere to get a signal, good enough to stream the football.

    Did it with a train ticket I’d bought my daughter - screen shot and sent it to her via WhatsApp. All was fine. I will add - Her idea, not mine o_O
