    From Recent memory
In the T&S season, Ourselves an Bolton were mid table by December. Had our form continued, we would of finished in the play offs. Bolton had a similar run but carried it on, they got promoted that season

Bristol Rovers were seen by many fans as one of the worst teams to come to VP last year. They turned their form around an ended up in the autos.

In League One, We played Sheffield United in September/October an the game finished 3-3. Up until that point, Sheffield hadn’t done much in the league. They finished in the autos that season

There was a season where Plymouth were near/in the relegation places in November, They got into the play offs that year

In 2013, We went on a poor run post League Cup Final, We lost to Exeter 4-1 in March an looked set to be midtable. We picked up a late run an got into the play offs an the rest is history

The point im trying to make is, stop over reacting

Hope this is a wind up :)

if he goes then what ????
We move on the next poor sod ???
Sacking managers year after year just isn’t working isn’t it ???
The last long term man we had in was Parky and look at the journey we had under him
Let’s see what happens over the next few weeks before mass meltdowns kick in .......... a win against Newport could see us up and running

Said it about bowyer said it about mccall and said it about Adams.

The guy and the team just need time. Those last three games last season we played some tasty stuff! We had 10 changes from that Carlisle game.. (11 if you count existing players in different positions) for those players to get used to Marks tactics and style will take time. And even to get used to each other. Training is poles apart from a match.

    We will improve!

Early days certainly but one or two things worry me slightly about MH. Firstly, in this league you need brutal centre backs and we don't seem to have one, preferring people who are good on the ball. Secondly, we seem to have put all our eggs in one basket with Walker and now he's injured we have no back up. Thirdly, we don't seem to have decided how we're going to play, for example yesterday replacing Angol with Young, two completely different players. And signing Oliver when we don't have the wingers to supply him with the crosses he needs to prosper. Fourthly, we seem to have recruited with the intention of rotating a lot of the squad from game to game. I've never known that to work at this level but it's something MH has brought in from higher up. Fifthly, MH seems to rate Gilliead. That's the most worrying of all.
I would have thought a savvy League 2 manager would have resolved all these issues before the season started but we haven't. It could be that we're trying to get promotion with a mindset that's appropriate to a much higher level of football. I really hope I'm wrong about all this but we'll find out in the coming time.

Platt was poor yesterday. I think Songo'o will get a chance on Tuesday.

That's the sad bit we thought Songo'o was back up with the signings of Crichlow, Platt, Smallwood etc but even the short time he was on he was prepared to throw himself into challenges.

    This thread is dumb.
Even if it’s an attempt at humour. We’ve played. 2 league games. Pathetic.

I agree with you, that City have to be more flexible.

You can have more variety in the attacking play.

Direct play with the ball over the top, putting the centre back under pressure.

Drilled balls down the channels, if you get brought down, then a free kick in a dangerous place.

Even if you are passing the ball across the line, then going to attack earlier, surely puts the opposition under pressure.

If City are too predictable, then teams can set up, soak up pressure for long spells and then counter attack.

We had 80% possession against Doncaster and 61% against Barrow, yet have a single point.

Both Doncaster and Barrow were happy to let us have posession but in different ways. Doncaster came for nothing more than a goalless draw, the sending off arguably working against us in that they went full on defensive mode. Barrow too sat deep but went on the press second half with Gordon and Waters, preferring to go direct and play the percentage game. I'm not surprised.weve got a single point from the two games as to be honest I think we've been poor in both games. Still 44 games to go, time for us to get a system working that gets the best out of the recruits

Anyone else just not remotely concerned about anything yet?

Injuries aside, we're actually looking okay to me. Didn't create enough chances against Barrow, but we aren't the first and won't be the last!

Show of hands for anyone not concerned?

I’m not concerned just frustrated, especially with the Barrow one as I actually said I’d take a point pre game and in the 95th minute it looked like we’d rescued one after creating little.

Still I get over football results a lot quicker than when I was younger, we go again next week.

I'm worried about tactics, specifically a complete lack of any width. We've brought in a centre forward known for aerial dominance yet seem to lack the desire to get to the byline and play to his strengths. We also seem to have forgotten that having options on the wings causes opposition back fours to stretch and create gaps which to play through.

Also concerned by the lack of movement in front of the ball when we have possession.

If we continue to play in the same way we have for the past two games without success, then I shall look at the management team as stubborn and unwilling to change although clearly things aren't working. I suspect we are heading down this path.

    Better sign some wingers sharpish
