With Osadebe out for the season and the Fanzone bar seeing more action than Eisa has, it's like 99% nailed on we try a loan winger. Very unlikely it's going to be Dion it seems. Luton are set to sign McAtee from Grimsby by all accounts, would make Dion maybe 5th/6th choice in the 3 behind striker roles. The paper did an article on 3 players with uncertain futures and he was one of them, but they did say the club would loan him to L1 if he was to be sent out again.

I imagine Hughes has been sending out feelers for a loan wide man already this morning. Must admit, I did expect a prem loan or two given Hughes & Hodges connections in the game, surprised our only loans are from our neighbours.

 

That is a something that needs changing. More of a Sparks thing I would have thought. He needs to stay out of the football side barring the contract dealings.

 

Don’t care where they come from aslong as they are good players and the two from town look alright to me

If he's made available for loan, I can see Jones agreeing to him to drop to L2 - if it's for a club of our size.

He's far more likely to get game time and knows the club - vital, for a player who hasn't ever played, I think, any more than five matches on the trot. Plus playing for our crowd has the atmosphere of at least upper L1 anyway.

Of course if Wednesday or Ipswich, etc came calling, then it's a no brainer - but I'm not certain those type of clubs would take the risk, given his chequered appearance record.

 

Dion is out of contract in the summer this is one that would be worthwhile speculating a bit to try and bring him in permanently

 

Possibly, all depends on the deal. I wouldn't be surprised if they let him leave permanently either to be honest. Last year of his contract, as you say he's never started more than 5 games and will be 24 by the end of the season. Not exactly screaming championship level winger.

He needs a full season under his belt somewhere, wont be in the champ so makes no sense for him to just bench warm. Cant imagine he's on mega bucks either, he'll be wanting to get games. As he turned 23 last season, I'm fairly certain that means he cant be registered in the U23s squad for this season either unless they changed the rules, so he'll literally never play.

 

Because he knows shite.

Football side of the game should be left to football people.

Good point. I think that lends itself to him been more likely to be somewhere, he gets 'guaranteed' game time. Jones is going to want to decide in January and quickly if he wants him.

Might give him a contract extension now and send him out on loan though

 

He was also quoted, although this was back in June as saying he'd like to come back. I think his quick footed flair would be ideal for us.

 

He is not chosen the players he is negotiating the transfer and terms

 

And that's what he's doing. Unless you think he's going to be telling Mark Hughes, who frankly he seems a bit in awe of, who the best players are.

 

That’s fine but he should be saying where loans should come from or involved in any football matters barring the contacts .

 

think something will happen once the league season gets up and running properly a fair few clubs may have a few players carrying injuries and aren’t willing to commit to loan deals yet .............still got a feeling that Dion will be back with us though

 

Decked if the central defender from Town sees the season out here ........... he just looks a class above this league and I honestly think Town may struggle this season so he may end up back there come the new year

Not quite true. There was a rumour swirling that his preference was to go to Bradford but no quotes attributed to the player. It was probably based on a few twitter posts he did.

At the moment the fans want him to get a chance and he's done pretty well in the friendlies. Whether he gets league game time is another thing.

If he leave permanently, it won't be for free.

 

He's out of contract in the summer. If Huddersfield stay up, he's not likely to get minutes in that team and will be 24 next summer. We are in a perfect scenario really, if he loves his time here we must be a favourite for his next deal. Wouldn't worry about a recall unless they want him playing in L1. If Huddersfield struggle like expected, it would be very surprising if they turn to youth over going out to find experienced guys in Jan.

He looks a cut above. Amazing to think he'd only ever played as a left back until 2020.

 

He looks great so far, but let’s see what he’s like against an attacking team. He didn’t really have much to do on Saturday. He looks calm, and if he stays that way under pressure, then we’ve got a decent centre back on our books until January.
