    Is Tomlin that great a player? He seems to be averaging about 18 games a season, over the last five, when he should have been at the peak of his career. During that time he has scored an average of 3 goals a season. When he went to Walsall last season he was on the bench or not used. He is now coming up 34. From the pictures since he went to Doncaster, he looks overweight (might just be his body shape). Not sure I would have been ‘over the moon’ had he signed for us.

    Tomlin has started 2 games since Sept 2020. Walsall fans said he was a waste of a big wage last season. He looked very slow and over weight and from his Donny pics so far, doesn't look to have lost much. Looking at the 5 they have out, only 1 is a nailed on starter in midfield, the rest are rotational wingers or strikers at best. Their squad doesn't look threatening to be honest, few decent players in the spine but it's littered with over the hill pros you'd have wanted to sign 3 or 4 years ago. Guys like Tomlin, Agard and Adam Clayton who've barely kicked a ball for the last few seasons.

    He's always looked tubby. Very talented though - or he was a few years ago, not sure about now.

    Well i am now well and truly pissed off. Bloody wedding. just had a look at the ticket website. Lots of blocks with limited availability and some with none. Club saying other 18000 sold as of this morning. its going to be some atmosphere.
    Will someone shout and clap extra hard to cover for my absence.

    When I saw that they'd signed him I immediately thought, that's the kind of signing we often make. Built up as a marquee signing because of previous successes and decent wages, capable on their day but those days don't happen often enough due to age and injuries. See Gareth Evans, Tom Elliot, James Vaughan et al.

    Line up wise, given some of the injuries, I'm pretty much expecting the same set up as the Sunderland friendly. Think Oliver, Chapman and maybe Sutton are the possible changes from that but it sounds like they still might be getting up to speed.

    He has some skill and he has decent experience. So if he's fit he would seem to be a good signing. Recent history would suggest he's struggling for fitness though.

    A couple more blocks sold out and more gone to limited availability, looking likely we'll beat the Carlisle attendance from last season. Lower tier of the JCT600 stand almost sold out and almost all single seats left.

    Tomlin possibly out, Molyneux out, Reo Griffiths out.

    Molyneux might have been the danger man, had a great season for Hartlepool last year, notched 8 goals from midfield. Lot interest around Griffiths too, his first full season since joining from Lyon.

    I'm glad I purchased a physical season ticket, as the one on the app has just disappeared.

    If this is a widespread issue I foresee chaos tomorrow.

    EDIT: I had to uninstall and reinstall the app and 'force season ticket upload' (in the settings) and then wait 15 minutes before it reappeared.

    Good luck to anyone relying solely on the app.

    Did they use electronic tickets for the friendlies?

    As we played a couple of friendlies at home, it would have been a great opportunity to test the approach.
