Not for me im afraid. The standard is shocking.

The world champions USA were hammered 5-2 by Dallas Under 15s boys team. Yep, full grown women were beaten by 14 year old boys. Who also played with 10 men.

 

League 2 sides would put 20 odd past any womens international side.

 

Not changing my thoughts but yes watching some games many teams are still poor but 1 or 2 are improving, England are already there, yes they will never have the physicality of men but often the best football is played when the other team can’t near the ball.
Still each to there own, like watching kids, no skill but loads of passion

 

People need to realise the history of women's football, for 50 years it was banned in this country. If that ban was in place there would be no 1966 World Cup winners. It is growing year on year, unfortunately the investment that we've seen in this country hasn't been replicated in other countries but hopefully this tournament will encourage more countries to invest. Some of the attendances they've got at these Euros would have been unthinkable 10-20 years ago. As more opportunities arise more young girls will see a path to becoming a full time footballer that players like Beth Mead wouldn't have had 17 years ago when she signed for Middlesbrough.

Two massive pluses for me watching womens football you see few fake injuries and without doubt they have far more respect for the referees than in the mens game.
The powers that be keep quoting "respect" I see very little of it in the mens game given to the referees and that includes Bradford City players.

 

There's less make up and fewer elaborate hairdos in the women's game too

 

As I'm patriotic and its the knock out stages I'm watching the England ladies. You know what. This is a proper game. Nothing like the group games. They are knocking lumps out of each other!

 

Let's hope the goal from Stanway turns out to be the winner what a cracking strike.

The Spanish players made her mind up for her by backing off, that's taking nothing away from the superb finish.

 

It was a cracking game all round.

 

So much for the likes of Gary Neville, leave it to a woman to hopefully bring a little bit of footballing glory to the country.

 

I really do hope they do it - having a great tournament. At top level it can be entertaining but the standard of the club game is just terrible - I've given it a try. Its the equivalent of school football. I don't believe it is even played at top Sunday league/district level.

But good luck to the Lionesses. I will get behind them if they reach the final.

 

Did you watch last night Sergio? I have never watched a ladies club match, but I tried watching the earlier England games and and I was of the same opinion, but last night was totally different...in my opinion of course

 

I've enjoyed all the Lionesses games last night was more of an even game, the first goal was a bit of get it in the mix and see what happens, Russo beat two Spanish defenders in the air and the lass Toone was on hand to stick it away, what can you say about the second anyone who's played the game dreams of a strike like that, from leaving Stanway boot it had goal written all over it beating the keeper all ends up fabulous strike.

 

Yes great goal, but I thought last night the intensity and commitment in the tackle from both teams was much stronger than in the previous games. It was a proper battle!
