Totally agree, Fordy stop talking bollocks and contradicting yourself- you know preseason is all about getting minutes and fitness. Hughes has said all the right things after today's game, read his comments and stop being a drama queen

Angol didn’t get a kick up against Davies but Walker And Chapman and to,a lesser extent Young with his pace caused them problems. I think Smallwood will be dominant in league two and East had some nice touches. But we were torn apart every time by the right winger in the first half and we would have been better playing Foulds first half. But despite what some say on here I think there were positives and things to build on when the best team is fielded. We need at least one full back in in my opinion

 

We defended with a high line. A team with Derby's quality in the first half got in behind regularly, largely down the sides where we were weak. In League 2, I'm hoping that teams have less joy and that playing on the front foot helps us dominate games.

We still need 2-3 quality players in though, including a right back.

 

We were poor today but it was a friendly,we played Bury at home in pre season 12/13 who at the time were an ordinary league 1 team and they beat us easily 3-0. That season didn’t turn out too bad.

Gillingham lost 2-0 to Dover in a friendly today, I guess that must make them relegation certainties.

 

I remember seeing the city gent with a bust nose after the game ended. was only 10 was an eye opener haha

I disagree with Foulds at LB I thought he was a bright spark, showed thoughfulness in attack and didnt really have much to do defensively.

FCD, Staunton and Threlkeld are passengers and need to be used sparingly. This means we deff need a RB as FCD is not back up to Hendrie.

Attacking wise I was disappointed with Chapman, impressed by East, Scales looked much improved, and also thought Cook really has improved both his skill and fitness.

All in all I think we need a RB.

Derby looked out of our league first half especially down the right.

 

Even worse Swindon lost to Swindon Supermarine. Down by Xmas.

 

If we’re not gonna treat friendlies seriously and always pass them off as fitness exercises then there shouldn’t be an entrance fee.
4000 people have paid £10 today and quite frankly it wasn’t worth it.

It was good to see Cook who has come back from the break looking lean and fit and looking ready to fight to stay here

 

Speak for yourselves people know what pre season is about it was good to be back at Valley parade and seeing some of the new players. There was a better atmosphere than most of these type of matches and I enjoyed it

 

That’s basically what all have said for the last month. We need a right back. We didn’t need a game against a mid table CC club to confirm it. . And back up for left back on that showing, !

 

I think today’s game was just good to be back at VP both teams putting the effort in a good warm up match. Happy with our new keeper and I thought Chapman looked promising maybe full backs to sort out. Left car at home caught the train over popped into Sally Browns on North Parade after the game Yeah Man very cool if you like Ska

 

I was in there a while ago. Asked the DJ to play Sally Brown, he said he didn't have it. Erm... really?
