Last season priority cards were available FOR ALL FANS to give them the first dibs on away games when the away club couldn't meet our demand, if fans who travelled to most away games didn't take that added option to more or less guarentee them a ticket more fool them.
We all knew the situation before a ball was kicked if they didn't want to cover all basses that was down to the individuals choice, as yet we don't know if the club will once again make priority cards available this season but if the do will you be purchasing one ?.

Well of course I’d buy one but only because the club will have left me no option. My point is those fans who supported the team last season during most times when the football on offer was shite, shouldn’t have to buy a bolt on priority card.
I have no issue with the club selling priority cards to fans who might not have accumulated many points if they think this might help them but they should only be used after the first phases of selling to fans with highest points.
In all honesty this argument will never end because there’s a split opinion on it but my opinion is that priority cards should be stopped and the example used by Sheffield Wednesday should be used. I don’t see how that’s unfair in any way.

If I remember correctly you did have to show your season ticket but I think you could buy as many tickets as you wanted with just 1 season ticket.

Just make it open for all, no priority, no loyalty points, first come first served. That would stop all the moaning.

No it wouldn’t. The moaning would then be about whether the tickets are sold online , at the ticket office or over the phone and the ratio of each and how it disadvantages certain people who can’t get online or live away from VP.
What would happen is like has happened last season with fans queuing overnight for Harrogate and Sutton tickets and that was just the 1000 priority card holders. Imagine the chaos if 14000 were all trying to get tickets.

So in essence there is no perfect way to sell away tickets when it is a small allowance. As you said online, at the ground how do you split it.
I have been very lucky as I have never missed a game I wanted to go to but if I missed out then that's life, you can't always get what you want.

The best way is the points scheme - I say that as someone who has had a priority card in the past and knowing full well that it'll impact my ability to potentially get tickets due to life circumstance now. I don't really think there's any other viable option. The priority card process is actually very crude and not fair.

The only time Ive missed out in the last (despite being a priority member) was Fleetwood away in the play offs because some of the travel clubs were given their own batches which I think was out of order.

Over the years we have been active away supporters but not as much now. I used to love going away the atmosphere was ace. Not sure how this is all going to pan out, but I will accept what club comes up with. There is no fair way of sorting this one. I have had a season ticket since we went to Blackpool away and couldn’t get a ticket, so we bought tickets for the Blackpool end. Then Blackpool sent another allocation do we bought two tickets and sold the Blackpool tickets outside the ground.

Until then we just used to rock up to the Kop and pay £7 on the day.

I will either watch it on ifollow or listen on the radio. Retro style;)

Back in those days we had 3000 season ticket holders max, so having one almost guaranteed you an away ticket if demand was high. That’s not the case these days and so there has to be a modern way of dealing with it and in my opinion the points system is the only way

I know half a dozen non season ticket holders, non priority card holders who got tickets. Two of them from 'contacts' in the ticket office. None had trouble getting tickets for Reading at home either.

Back in the day we used to go anywhere we wanted in any away ground. So in essence there was no such thing as “you can only have xxx fans attending” .Proportionally City took more away fans than we do now as a result. It’s clearly obvious what happened….that’s how it used to be. Segregation, for the right reasons, got us where we are.
I can’t see it changing any time soon, sadly. Until we do we will end up with the same twaddle of “I’m more loyal than you” debate season after season.

I hope we have seen the last of the priority cards, it will be interesting to see if the club are happy to turn £30,000 down.

Whys it not fair, as long as the club make it known they are selling them everyone has a choice buy one or don't, let's hope we can get out of this division under Hughes then the majority of league in grounds can accomadate the traveling fans.

We agree on that for sure.
I hope the club don’t make a rod for their own backs by carrying them on into next season as it will only create complaints from both sides of the fence.
    A. Non priority with high loyalty points will moan if they can’t get a ticket before priority card holders.
    B. Priority card holders will complain they’ve been mis-sold and that the cards are useless if loyalty points are used before them and they can’t get a ticket.
    C. The club will be accused of exploitation if they force fans to buy a loyalty card to be used in conjunction with their points total.

and then there’s me and I’ll just moan about anything and everything sometimes just to get a bite on here which is sometimes more entertaining than the football (hopefully not this season)

All about opinions, great debating and good humour some times, and boy did we need a sense of humour last season

I’ll be glad to see the end of June so I can turn the page over on the City calendar and never see Derek Adams face again. Although still have December to endure with Oscar Threlkeld

Did you get a 1,000 loyalty points for that? Or with it being Derek 10,000?

As I recall they released the tickets to Priority Holders and then in a second wave put them on sale to Season Ticket Holders. People were sleeping outside the ground. I do not think they required the stubs from the Milwall game and certainly not the Dartford game! As @Ulysses S Grant@Ulysses S Grant says most of us know of incidents when none season ticket holders and people who had not been at either Milwall match, managed to get tickets.

Because it's not priority based on anything other than the ability to purchase one. Ive had one every season they've been out - I still don't think they're fair.
