That bit on Look North choked me. He’s just one of them blokes you just know is decent, nothing superficial.

Southfield Lane lad. Top bloke and a really nice man to boot. He would have been really chuffed with that other Bradford Lad's (Jonny Bairstow) back to back centuries for England, may have been one of the last things he saw.
    RIP Harry Gration

Very much my area when I was growing up(Hastings avenue)
I was quite surprised when I saw a little article on him and found out he lived above the tailors next to Chapel green club on the corner of Thornton lane and Little Horton lane.

Never knew that mate I frequented the Chapel Green for many years but as with anything else not enough people did, rumour has its going to be an Asian restaurant.

RIP Harry, he agreed to MC our staff conference at my old place a few years ago. As I was close to the marketing team in an open office you could here their discussions about him, seemed a very nice genuine, humble man. It’ll be strange not seeing him on our screens anymore, very sad seeing Amy announce it as well.

So very sad to hear this news. I recall him really advocating City on Look North a lot but especially in the mid to late 80's. I used to wait with my fingers on the record button on my VHS player every Monday night as I knew City footage would be featured.

    RIP Our Harry.

Very sad news, he came across really well and as others have said just seemed to be a really nice bloke. I too remember tuning into the news to catch and record highlights of City games, see if I could see myself in the crowd or just catch up on games i wasn’t at. Clearly very good at what he did and you just knew who he was whenever you saw him or heard him on the radio.

A thoroughly decent man. I did hear that he was looking thin on his final days, he was possibly keeping it quiet. Honourable to the end. RIP Harry.

Saw a picture of him taken in June - hadn’t half aged a lot in the last few months, and as you say lost a lot of weight.
