Massively less experience than the Hartlepool lad though Park and this seems to be the pattern of our summer signings. Young players with potential but not a lot of first team games. It’s a risky strategy the direct opposite of Bowyer who prefers veterans but still a gamble in a different way.

Odusina seems less likely but I wouldn't rule it out. We have Platt and Songo'o as CB options. Songo'o did ok and was full of heart, but is he really a first choice for a team wanting promotion? Or to put it another way, wouldn't we want 4 'first team' centre backs? We now have Platt, Songo'o and Cromley. Kelleher is nowhere near good enough and I'd have to say, Staunton should really only be considered 5th choice (and or cover at left back). There's still a case to say we need another CB.

The point is he has now been out on loan and done brilliantly. And he is still on the books of a championship team who obviously rate him and a loan sharing wages leaves room for further signings it’s clear we are going to have a bigger Squad this time allowing for rotation and cover for injuries

More realistic imo, but I suppose if Watt goes even if Smallwood came in there maybe room for another. Maybe if we can offload a Threlkeld for instance.

Sorry but dont see it. Kelleher is as good a you will probably get for a 4th choice at this level although im not a fan.

The new boy is 23, hes not come to be a bench warmer. Will be 3rd choice at worst youd think. Songo did well under Hughes at CB. There is always Foulds as well if we have an injury crisis.

Only way I see Odusina come in is if Songo leaves or is moved up to CM.

    Hope im wrong...

Songo only moves to CM if we don’t get Smallwood imo.

The latter option is a no from me! I’d struggle to see him there tbh?

    Direct opposite of Parky too.

What worries me is that it might easily take these lads half a season to get up to code.

The positive spin is that the players under multi-year contracts who burst out of the gate might attract interest before long, making us a tidy sum.

But yeah, maybe it's the FGR dynamic & coachable approach, but we look to be lacking massively in experience.

The fact people point to Songo'o as experience is a massive concern considering how poor he was last season.

It's hard to determine where is classed as Up Norf these days. Bradford Park Avenue are in National League North and you should see the map showing their fixtures.

I know, bit of leg pulling going on ….. To southerners it’s always Watford, to Londoners it’s north of the M25, to West Hammers it’s the North Circular, eh @Interested Bystander@Interested Bystander ;).

Kelleher is nowhere near good enough? To be fair he hardly played. Yes he was poor at Carlisle, yet at Salford he was so good that they subbed Henderson (who has always been a threat playing against us) because Kelleher had him in his pocket.

Interesting post. Would you take ability over experience?

Experience doesn't always equate to ability as you have pointed out.

For example: Evans had experience. Threlkeld has experience. Robinson has experience. Lavery has experience. Delfounseo has experience. Wells lacked experience. O'Brien lacked experience. I could go on. Give me a squad that has the ability rather than the last few squads that have loads of experience but very little ability.

The under 24's are usually on less wages as they don't have freedom of contract.
We'll be getting better value for money which is what putting a squad together is all about.
