    I'd like to see us sign a good dominant CB thus allowing Songo'o and hopefully Smallwood as Defensive mids protecting the defence in which should allow the front 4 to concentrate on scoring goals knowing their well covered behind them.

    If a “dominant CB” comes in and a replacement is found for Watty, I can’t see a place in the starting 11 for Songo’o ? Perhaps I’m missing something?

    Completely agree, I'm just not sure where MH sees him as featuring as we've not really had a full squad for him to choose from as yet.

    Well much has been said about how players improved after the appointment of Hughes and in the run in Songo’o was probably our best player at Centre half

    I agree but with squad rotation, he may still get a fair few games. However, I'm not sure he'd be happy with that which is why I said a few days ago that if Del boy did come in for him, I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave.

    Possibly but I think MH likes Yann and may give him a shot at defensive mid, yes he has his faults like all L2 players but even if he's not in first 11 his versatility could be a big help for us this coming season.

    His nominal position was defensive midfield at Morecambe . I personally wouldn’t put Watt into that category, because he was / is hardly a protector of the defence but for example isn’t that Smallwoods normal role if he did sign on the dotted? So where would it leave Yann?
    Platt plus a specialist CB leaves him as back up only?
